how can i be a hippie

i keep trying and trying,even bought the book and got some tie dyes at Walmart,but my mom won't let me grow my hair.

Being a hippie isn't so much about wearing tie dyes or growing your hair out. Its about wanting to spread love and peace, and enjoying your freedom (and fighting the government when it trys to take away freedom, which it does all the time). Its also about not conforming, which is where the tie dyes and long hair come in, as well as pot/acid, but don't do it because you want to be a hippie. Do it because you don't want to conform to the professionalism bs that the business world expects from you.

The 1950s was the decade of conformitism, and the hippies in the 1960s were the counter movement of all that conformitism.

Ask this thread in the Old Hippies forum, because some of them were actually around back then.

 

So if i grow my hair and wear tye dyes i can be like all the other non conformists out there?
