Smoking bans

In Ontario, you can't smoke in any public places...

There was a big thing recently because some old folks in a retirement home were not allowed smoke in their smoking room inside the building... Made them go outside in the winter to smoke their cigarettes...

 

The justpassed this in Philly not too long ago as well, and it sucks Only when its freezing outside though and I dont wear a good sweater to the bar

 

I smoke because it makes me look like Lou Reed.

I'd rather politicians and authorities be concerned about more important things, like decreasing the amount of carbon dioxide we emit into the atmosphere. A ban on SUV's is what we really need.

 

Yeah, as a non-smoker, I abor the smoking ban. In Washington state, it's banned up until 25 feet away from all public buildings. Utter madness. I'd feel better if clubs/bars/restaurants designated themselfs before opening whether they were smoking-friendly or non-smoking friendly. If you don't smoke, don't go to a smoking-friendly establishment and vice versa.

I wish the government would spend less time babysitting the general public and their habits, and more time saving the environment from us.

when i was in PoRSFiS and we had a party at someone's house, we'd designate the nonsmoking area as for "oxygen breathers" and the smoking area as for "methane breathers".

PoRSFiS was a skiffy club, so everybody "got it" and had no problem with the concept.

I'm a smoker. On one level it will be a right royal pain in the ass. On another level it will be good for the poor buggers who have to inhale secondary smoke. Now if we could just get all the cars in the world off the road. I would be happy.

I love the smoking bans here, keeps me from smoking because I really crave one when I drink.
I also love that Pelosi banned smoking in the pol lounge...end of the era of old men smoking giant stogies in lush lounge chairs.
