You need to go to the doctor asap. You will also see the whites of your eyes turn yellowish. Jaundice is cause by liver problems. A baby is sometimes jaundice when there liver is not full developed when the are born. It means your belly rubin count is to high I think.

If it's just your hands, unlikely to be jaundice. Check the white part of your eyes, that's a good indicator. Yellowing alone could be any number of things--been wearing anything on your hands lately that you hadn't been wearing before?

I'm pretty sure my eyes aren't yellow. Im kind of ashamed to let someone see my hands or palms because of what they might think or say.

Hmmm, so it's that striking that it's embarrassing ay? Well, the first idea that comes to mind would be if you're exposed to anything unusual--if you've been wearing something different (new winter gloves? gloves in a lab?) or doing something with your hands (coming into contact with some sort of plant or chemical?) Basically that's my first thought.
Otherwise, maybe diet changes... and definitely check and see if you notice it anywhere else--just your hands, or also other parts of you rbody?

Its not a striking yellow but if you are up close its discolored a bit, yellowish with some reddish white patches. The strange thing is though sometimes it will look completely normal and then other times look pretty bad. I don't know.

that's the first sign of liver failure. Go to the doctor ASAP. I know someone (a very young woman) who recently passed away because she ignored the signs, continued drinking high quantities of alcohol, and taking tylenol daily. Very few people ever get a liver transplant, they die instead.

My eyes aren't really yellow at all though, more bloodshot then anything, always bloodshot.

My basic rule of thumb is that if there's some noticeable change in something, it's worth seeing a doctor. It may be nothing consequential, or it could be a sign of something. But at least you'll know. And given that you've said you're somewhat embarrassed by it, that makes it plenty worthwhile to see a doc, because it obviously is having an effect on your life.
