do you think if i bulid my own green house, it would contribute to helping the enviroment in some way?
I saw on tv the very end of a program about this family who built a greenhouse which warmed itself up in winter somehow, all i can remember is them putting lots of bags of what looked like grit and stones underneath it or something. Anyone know what i'm on about?
Having a green house means you can grow food that would otherwise perhaps be imported, depending where you live. Growing your own food anyway means that you are cutting down on carbon miles attached to what you eat. If you grow organically even better. Good for you, good for Mother Earth, good for everyone. The Centre for Alternative Technology based in Wales in the UK maybe able to help with some ideas. They do have a website but I can never remember the address.
Yup then again what materials are you going to use to make this greenhouse, are they from places that are enviro friendly? Or are you going to use PVC and plastics and ect?
Hello! I have 3 green houses made from old windows and patio doors that would have just gone to the landfill. The wood is second hand and I even straiten out the old nails and re use them. It saves me money and helps the environment.
