nope... I know there are bans around where I live on some "vicious" dogs... I'm not sure what to make of it, honestly. I mean, I'm all for animal rights etc, but at the same time, I don't like the idea of having unmaintained dogs attacking people either.
My thing about that is that any dog can be made to be vicious, yet certain breeds are singled out time and time again just because people choose those breeds to raise in that fashion. If anything I think pet owners should be brought up on charges when their animals blatantly attack people without being provoked.
Man, I have seen the most vicious chihuahuas... damn rat dogs. Exterminating any animal is terrible... stupid humans.
pit bulls can kill people though, chihuahua's cant..... all they can do is nibble on someone's ankle, maybe take out their achilles tendon, or something....... and yes alot of it has to do with owners and how they handle their dogs, but time and time again, its the pit bull with the most problems...... if only all of the owners could be like the dog whisperer
Its the pitbull OWNERS who have the most problems. They are just as hard to handle as a Rottweiler a Doberman a Bull Terrier or a Fucking Saint Bernard. Big dogs require strong (not only physically mind you) owners who can dominate. I've owned 3 pits in my life and currently own a Boxer Pit mix. They are some of the biggest sweetehearts in the planet. They are like giant puppy dogs. Good owner=proper training=good dog.
But... but... it has sharp teeth! They also say that rabbits cannot attack a human, but... oh... how wrong they are!
Pitbulls are one breed among a very long list of dogs capable of killing humans ranging from toddlers to full grown men. They're singled out by hateful people though because they're strong, instinctive dogs. Once again, if they want to get to the source of the problem, they need to get to the owners. Those who train their dogs to fight rarely have loyalty to their dog, but they all have loyalty to their freedom.
No, that's too harsh... we can put them to good use. Ship them to the North Pole, and lay them in lines on the ice... so that they would block the solar rays, therefore blocking the effect the hole in the ozone has on the ice-caps.
Ive heard about it.. instead of working on a bill to exterminate pit bulls in Cali they should work on a bill to exterminate some of the owners... we had this GORGEOUS sweet pit in the shelter.. only problem is she liked to try to eat little dogs... and we did a RTO because she came and found her... but the stupid bitch let her back out without paying attention to her and she killed some neighbors dog...so she wound up back at the shelter and we had to put her down because no one could own her because she was now labeled as a vicious dog and no one could afford to own her because pits can affect your insurance now-a-days because of the bad rap they've gotten.. tis LAME
As appealing as that sounds, we should just start doing experimentation on THEM instead of innocent animals...I like the torturing part better.
i read in the paper today a man robbing a house was attacked by a pit bull after he injured the owner...with our laws the way it is though the dog'll be put down and the owner will be fined
You know what a dog lover I am. I had a pitbull that I raised very lovingly, never was hit or even yelled at by me or my fiance at the time and when I moved back home my mom treated him like the son she never had. Of course I also had Lucky neutered and took him to puppy obidience. After about three years he attacked my golden retriver several times and got out and tried to mall a child. After my golden had to recieve his fourth set of stiches from lucky attacking him and no behaviorlist wanting to take on the challenge I took him to the humane society and he was euthanized that day (I knew that when I brought him in and paid for the euthanization). I know there are so many sweet pitbulls but also so many bad breeders and bad charecteristics that run in that breed. With the force and mass those dogs have they are lethal. I do not think anyone should be forced to euthanize their animal (unless it is a threat) but I do feel as though we need to put restrictions on breeding them as mine was rescued at 8 weeks old from a dog fighting circle.
He'll be fined for having a guard dog? WTF? And Bella, the key there is that the dog was rescued from a dog fighting circle. Of course it's going to attack another dog. Once again a case of circumstance surrounding the dog. Not a case of a dog gone crazy out of nowhere.
