haha trruu. im right with ya buddy

i think that if we all got together and took a stand on this, we could make something happen. i mean, what have any of you done to really make something happen. no offence at all intended to anyone, but unless you're out there protesting, writing letters, and/or putting out posters/signs/flyers/billboards, then you're not really doing anything but talking. sitting on your ass writing on a fourm does no one good. i think we should create some kind of organization with different chapters to get something rolling here. i'm not saying that there's not some of you that havnt done something, or that there arnt organizations devoted towards this.(before some of yall explode)
but i love my weed, and i'll do anything to make it legal.

In our society of America, the legalization of weed will probably never happen. It seems that people focus on the negatives of things not the positives. You might say, "Oh alchohol and ciggies are worse but they're legal." Yes, but it's a lot easier to schedule something than to un schedule. But also since people see everything for what it's bad for and not good for, noone sees the advantages of pot. When used correctly, it can open your mind to deeper thoughts and widen your views of the world. But most close-minded people see pot as a drug that hurts your lungs and gives you lung cancer. A lot of people believe that the negative affects of ciggies are similiar or equal to pot. Thus all those diseases you get from ciggies you all of a sudden get from pot.

Some might also see it in a way that it does change you. But they don't see the positive changed, they see the bad change. They see that it can "change your braind around" or basically what they are saying is jumble everything you know and be retarded. The interesting thing is a lot of the anti-pot posters point out problems, but would be solved if legalized. You'll go to jail if you're caught. Legalize and problem solved. My mom used this one against me. "You could get bad stuff that's laced with PCP." If it were legalized the chance of getting lace would go down dramatically because it would most likely be grown packaged and sold by big companies not "drug pushers" as some see.

But we do have some hopes. If we can show it's good uses besides medicinal purposes somehow without breaking the law that would help. If anything, get a permit and grow killer outdo' in Humbolt County, California. Or go to someplace like Seattle where it isn't as big a deal. Or become a botanist at Washington University, like I'm hoping to be, to study, grow and "research" this wonderful plant.

    Just my opinions.
    Peace..

lol.. Well thank you all for your input. Go to the Norml website...they're working for mary jane legalization. They also have a part that says, 'Smoke the Vote' and you can see where candidates stand about decriminalization and various other weed-related stances. You can also register to vote. Pretty cool.

    Peace & Much love

Fuck it, push for leniency and tolerance instead!

What I don't quite get with the U.S is how fucked up all the different laws in the different states are. How can you get life without parole in one state (a la Mark Young in '92) and in a different state which could be like, a mile down the road, and get 3 years or probation or something? Thats weird and indicates to me that there must be completely differing opinions from one entire state to another!?

Whilst the totally intolerant states exist how can the government ever legalise weed even if they ever wanted to, either now or in the future?

Anywhere between now, and when hell freezes over.

People just aren't ready to take a stand. I see that in this town especially, for such a small population the police have a rather large budget. Scared old religious people, I'm assuming. Donations were made to get a $60,000 police dog. The police probably make more money off of prohibition by raiding schools, med patients, and sending friendly people like you and me to prison.

I definitely feel safe here, but that's mostly because everyone is a spoiled rich kid and the worst they'll do is brag. I can't wait to leave in 9 months.

No-one seems to be able to answer how the law varies between states, i think this is a point of interest for non US citizens especially, as it seems strange, imagine what its like for a poor tourist trying to tour america, never knowing if they're gonna get a slap on the wrists or life!!!

Can anyone at least say where the MOST lenient place is and where the WORST place to get caught is? Not maybe just for possession for personal, but maybe for a bit more. :H

I lived in OREGON for a couple of years..Pretty damn open. I had a state permit for medical use..farout..You pay a doctor to write the prescription,($ 175.00) The state get $150.00. So for $325.00, you can have 7 plants ( 3 budding) and up to 3 oz. at ant time. I went to the doctor for a hang nail, ok, you kinda have to have some kind of real problem, but who can't say they don't or won't hurt.

    SMOKEM IF YOU GOTUM.

All we need to do is to get 2:15 passed and start standing for weed no matter what. if we all started to grow it how can the goverment control that. what are they gonna do arrest everyone in america and put them in jail. I for one could care less if they arrested me because you can go and grab a bag as soon as you get out or find it while your in. any way it should be legal and i'll never stop for any reason. but one thing little kids should wait till there older and i would never bring it to a park where little kids are around. toke toke toke it up

It can't be regulated, so it won't be legalized.

At least Until someone comes up with a detailed tax proposal that elimanates the blackmarket.

    Good luck with that!
