I could never truly pick just one Led album for my favorite, but I am quite partial to Physical Graffiti, so that would be my pick. 2nd would be Houses of the Holy...tough decision!
I agree...this is a difficult decision to make! They are all good in some way; but the first three albums hold a spiecal place for me. I voted for the debut album; because it is the one that introduced me to the Zeppelin. When it first came out...in vinyl of course...I ran out and slapped down something like $4.00 for it. Nearly wore it out playing it and as loud as my record player would go. I think my parents freaked with that devil music!! LOL
houses of the holy for sure. that was their last perfect album, before they slowly started deteriorating.
it s weird that led zepellin IV and led zepellin II are no more successfull in this thread... cause both are the most known ...with often the best critics and both are big big sells... But i agree...my fave is Led Zep III too it s their most hippie community album... strangely i m not into Led Zep II...the fave led zep album of modern US metalheads (with Physical grafitti)
i love physical graffiti! perhaps because it's a double album and gives me more to listen to, who can say?....but man, side 3 is the best to me after that, i'd have to vote for zep III and zep I in that order what about "song remains the same"? i know it's a live album, but i think it should be included in the poll/discography as well
I find that the first Led Zeppelin album and Houses Of The Holy are the most similar to each other from all the Led Zeppelin albums.
I will check this album once again... Physical grafitti is their last great album even if their ego had exploted by this time...Page was still rulling the rock n roll world... 'Physical Grafitti' and 'In through the out Door' are the Zepellin albums that i heard the less...maybe just 2 times... I ve got to buy again this explosive album (Physical G)... this album reminds me other mid 70s explosive album like the big '75 'Toys in the Attic' lp by Aerosmith or Rainbow 'rising' in 76 ... all three are heavy & impressive ...giant records...white lines were probably highly involved in those records... Even the '75 & '76 records by Montrose are in the same vain but maybe just not as good... I mean those who like Physical Grafiti will find a lot of great mid 70s heavy records to discover... it s unbelievable that rock n roll was so rich in those days!
As always it's difficult to choose a Zeppelin's album, but if i do have to,i choose Physical Graffiti.I've listened to it about one million of times...In my opinion,It has a sound that's completely different from all the other one,and i like it too much
nothing wrong with presence - achilles last stand and tea for one are my faves off that album nobody's fault but mine is another good tune, but yeah, i'm smitten with tea for one - reminds me alot of ten years gone off the physical graffiti album
I definately don't have an absoloute favorite, but for the hell of it, Houses of the Holy got my vote.
