I found this book in a used book store, saw it, and just picked it up, read the back cover and took it home. It was meant for me to read. It is a story of how a rubber-cutting working is inducted into the Amahausca tribe of the upper amazon jungle, and his experiences with the tribe and ayahausca vision sessions. Best book ive read in a long time. Very intresting. The Story of Manuel Cordova-Rios & translated by Bruce Lamb.
Find and read Amazon Beaming by Petru Prpescu. It tells the story of photogragher/adventurer Loren McIntyre and the tribe he fell into. Also read One River by Wade Davis. It tells about the life of Richard Evans Shulte, the Harvard Professor who founded the study of Enthnobotany. These books are amazing true accounts of lives the average person would never dream of...sure as hell wouldn't try to live. I was fortunate enough to work with an Ayahuascaro along the Amazon River in Peru. The Ceremonies he performed were powerful and life changing for me. Hope you enjoy the books and the topics...Wild stuff and it still is part of the fabric of life in the Amazon Basin...just 5 hours awayfrom by jet.
