i just got a speeding ticket. 77 in a 55. on a back country road coming home from my moms. grrrrr. i was definitely speeding, i didn't think i was going that fast, but im really pissed i got pulled over!!!! i just really needed to vent about it. I'm all shaken up now. I've only been pulled over once before. :(

on top of that i really can't afford to pay for the ticket, or to have my insurance go up. :(

    *sigh*

Cops that stop you on backroads are assholes... you should have choked him with the dark side of the force and eaten his body.

    try challenging it in court...

or try to plea it out, so you just pay the fine and not get insurance points.

both would bring you to the courthouse

back roads are dangerous to begin with....... 77 into 55 IS dangerous...... especially in rural roads where there could be slow moving vehicles like tractors or combines.....

I got two tickets within 4 days of each other......both were 70mph in a 35mph zone. The same road AND the same cop. My license was revoked for 1 year and I had to pay $420 to get it back. hahahaha $420:spliff:

Most places, it's 25mph over the limit and you get your license revoked. You didn't get 25 over, so you'll probably be alright, if it's the same as GA.

Do you have a defensive driving option in NY? Here in TX, if you haven't had a ticket in awhile, you can opt to take defensive driving and it keeps the ticket off your record, usually waives any fine, and keeps your insurance where it is. You have to pay for the course, of course, but I think it's way cheaper than a ticket.

 if you can't afford tickets/insurance to go up, maybe you shouldn't speed? 'less it was some sort of emergency

I got 5 tickets, from 2 different cops, within 2 days of each other, one doing 85 in a 35 zone, with fleeing and alluding as a charge, reckless driving, careless disregard to property and pedestrians, not stopping at 3 stop signs in a row, blah blah blah, and all I got was a 600 and some odd dollar fine total, no revocation. guess I lucked out. There was a whole shitload of other charges too, but they couldn't prove anything.

i really hope they dont revoke my liscence. I didn't even think about that.

I really didn't realize i was going that fast, i mean this is like long straight road in the middle of nowhere. I know i shouldnt have been speeding. I'm mad at myself really. Its just shitty.

i'm really glad though that i wasnt going 25 over, and that i didn't get charged with reckless driving. It was a sheriff that pulled me over too. I probably couldve been in a lot more trouble.

Lucky, man. It may be different laws where you are. But yeah, in GA it is an automatic revocation; 6 months for every ticket for 25 or more over the limit.

I kinda think that you deserve the ticket only because you didnt think you were going that fast... cars are dangerous and you need to know how fast your driving... but it still sucks

its like that here too, but I just got lucky, and the cops were just lazy and didn't feel like doing all the paperwork I guess. Hell, they didn't even search the car after they pulled me out at gunpoint and slapped the cuffs on me. They just bitched me out and sent me on my way

There's no reason for violence

Just use the Jedi Mind Trick on them, it's most effective on the weak and simple minded (which pretty much describes the average cop)

So in other words... act completely insane and confuse him by constantly babbling something about the force and your underwear?

That might win you a State funded psychiatric evaluation and a stay in a rubber room.

Like my alcoholic schezophrinic neighbor who thought that he was Elvis back in Arkansas said...

(in an elvis voice, while jiggling his hips, ofcourse):

"Have you ever been...... psychiatricaly evaluated?... thank you, thank you very much".
