    Yes and No. People use it as an insult which is very common but we greeks like say it as another way, as saying like hi. It's like if I was saying, hi man!

    Ah, I see! Thanks for letting me a small step further into greek lingo. ;)
    But I better not use that term in the friendly sense, next time I meet a greek, because s/he will probably think "this is a non-greek, and since all non-greeks only know 'malaka' as an insulting word, this guy is insulting me right now!!". ;)
