Have you ever met anyone online? Has a relationship ever come out of it? I'm curious b/c I've been talking to someone and I'm going to meet them soon.
Um, well I did it last week. We almost ended up having sex, which surprised myself since I've only been with one person. Well, he was a hottie but turns out he's extremely immature. And another time I ended up dating this guy from online, he and I just weren't supposed to be together that way. The best relationships and interactions I've had was with the people I've met in person. My best friend is having her boyfriend come in from Canada tonight, actually. I'm hoping things will work out for them. Good luck, and don't do too much on the first date. lol Alicia
I met this one girl online and fucked her. That was the extent of that. If you are positive that this guy is not a rapist/murderer then meet him. What are you planning on doing with the guy...Sex? or just date?
No, lol Mysteriousnight classfied herself as "gay." So, I'm assumping she'd be meeting another girl. Silly.
I've met alot of gals online in the past. Me and my mate used to do it for fun all the time. I've had alot of relationship from them too.
I've met most of my boyfriends online.... just meet in a public place for coffee or whatever the first time you two get together. It's a lot nicer than the bar, you can find out more about them via the net before deciding if you actually wanna meet 'em or not
Ummmm.... call me old-fashioned but would not consistently meet men online. I HAVE however dated and had a year-long relationship with one I did originally get to know online. I always call it a freak incident. Most of what caused the break up was long distance in the first place (5 hrs commute). I still believe it's crucial be able to see the person often enough so that you can see how they interact with other people. If you can do that, great. I also felt weird when family and friends would ask how we met and we had to say the internet or make something else up. It's awkward. They'll ask all sorts of questions like - "oh in a chat room?" No. "On a dating site?" No. Then look very puzzled like we must be so sleazy. If you're wondering it was just another forum like hipforums. It didn't make it OK. Infact it was ALL WRONG. On many levels. That's just me.
yes I've met several people online one of which did result in a relationship that lasted 9 months but eventually broke down because of the distance. first time was way back in 1997 which was just after the first irc servers were established. spent 6 weeks in the US meeting folk I had chatted to online. the last 4 were spent in NY state after meeting Lisa (we had an instant attraction) and ended having to cancel most of my travel plans! nothing came off it though in the longer term partly because I wasn't prepared to move to the US (from the UK) and she wasn't prepared to derail her nursing studies. then there was Regina whom I met in 1999 online and who I ended up meeting and having the above mentioned 9 mth relationship with. FWIW I wouldn't choose this as a means of meeting folk as I don't think LDRs work very well.
Yes, I am meeting a girl, and I doubt we will have sex. She lives about 3.5 hours from me we talk on the phone everyday. I know that sometimes things like this don't work out, but I am just curious. It's hard to find lesbians! I mean they just don't fall out of the sky! So, sometimes I need a little help via the internet.
Met my boyfriend online...we love eachother very, very much. Live together in our little flat, spend a huge amount of time together. What can i say? It worked for us Xx
I've met nicer people here at HF than any of 3 online dating things I have tried. It has to be a judgement call. But meeting in a public place is usually a good idea, especially for the ladies, and have your own transportation home.
