    hoe do you start the process of growing dreads?

    seperate into sections. using beads works best, but if you have to use rubber bands, then use the kind that doesn't break your hair. Backcomb for about a week. Use one of those metal combs that are used to get ticks and fleas out of dogs' hair. palm roll as much as you feel is right. palm rolling doesn't really help my dreads out. Dreads take a long time to form, so don't think you'll have dreads right away. mine are atthe 8th month mark and they have a long way to go until i'm happy. good luck!

    grab some hair and comb towards the scalp, there are tons of good faq's out there. Dreadhead hq has a tut on backcombing.

    Ignor everythign else they say. Dont you wax for the love of all that is holy
