I take 36mg of Concerta, 60mg of Strattera, and 80mg of Acutane daily in the morning + 15mg of Zopiclone (Imovane) due to insomia, to get to sleep. I've been completly clean for 25 days, and havent even drank, execpt tonite I had three beers. I got really drunk for some reason. Is this safe, theres warnings on the Acutane not to drink. I know a bit of alcohol shouldnt be a worry, but I was really drunk off such a small amount of booze, would this be a bad idea? (I've been an addict for a few years and I just got out of treatment two days ago, now fully medicated.. I dunno man!)
You shouldn't mix alcohol with amphetamines (like adderall) or ritalin (aka concerta). I'm not so sure about strattera and accutane, but having a warning on your accutane bottle telling you not to drink, probably means that you shouldn't drink . People often forget that alcohol is a drug and should be mixed carefully (if at all) with other drugs. You could try taking melatonin instead for insomnia. It won't interact with much of anything, and you can buy it OTC. Just take it once every night before you go to bed always at the same time. If you don't need to take your Strattera and Concerta every day (btw, why do you take two different ADD medications?), then drinking might not be quite as dangerous. Then again, I'm not your doctor, and can't really tell you what medications you need to take daily. I've never heard of accutane so I can't say anything about it, but try and heed the warning on the bottle. In the last line you mention being an addict, an addict to what? Alcohol? If so you shouldn't be drinking at all... you can't be a recovering/recovered alcoholic and a social drinker. Hope that helps.
Accutane can cause liver damage itself. Mix alcohol with accutane and you get a higher probability of liver damage.
If you want to be that persnickity, cocaine isn't an amphetamine either. It makes sense, to me, to put a cocaine addict on methylphenidate, or amphetamines.
