THIS is a petition on cannabis legalisation in brittain, it ends feb. 07 and allready many people have signed. u need to be a resident of the uk to sign also, it takes less than 5min and you KNOW it was spent for something good.

i (since im underage) signed it for my mum who agreed to it, and for my dad also, and im going to get everone i know to fill this in because if its possible to have cannabis legalised as early as february 07, im down =D

i hope many will sign this since, im guessin every vote will count.

also even if you dont even care about this please sign up also, since ur doing millions of people a favour, marijuana is part of nature and nature SHOULD not be illegal. also if your against cannabis for some bizzare reason other than misleading info and complete bullshit than dont even bother writing anything here, but for those of you that have heard of and know of the benefits of its use medically and spiritually, ur signature could make all the difference.

    legalise IT!!

edit: you can sign these if you dont want legalisation, but other cannabis related laws, or just sign all :):

I'm Canadian, which was under British rule for awhile, and we still have your Queen on some of our money, so I feel like I should be able to sign this, dammit! I don't smoke Mary Jane..I did, but it made me very very sick after awhile, but I know it's nature and it makes alot of people feel good, so i'm for legalization. Give me an address and U.K. postal code and i'll sign it.

the only problem the UK is gonna have with this legalization is the influence from the USA.. many countries have made marijuana illegal because of US influence... but if the UK can do it.. i would think that US wouldnt be too far behind... since usually whatever the UK supports US will support as well.. and vice versa

would we get our moneys worth if it became legal ? ie would it come in packets pre-rolled and how much cannabis would be in each joint ? "personally i like to see the buds am buying (roll your own ) with whatever amount you decide to put in for example having a one skinner before going to work and a rocket when relaxing .

Fortunately, legislation for cannibis will never be passed in the UK. :D :D :D

are you joking??? if u arent u are the dumbest fuck evaar. look an amsterdam, tell me is everyone you see there a whacked out zombie? basicly if people want to get high, they will find a dealer and do it whether its legal or not, smoking shit with fuck knows whats been put into it, handing something natural and far healthyer than tobbaco and alcohol into the hands of criminals when it could be controlled.

also if it were legalised, which it WILL be eventually just a matter of time, will and getting of our asses, it will probably be like in amsterdam, several stores and coffee shops will open up around the uk, some selling fresh homegrown buds which u can see the grow setups yourself, also u will probably b able to buy packs of pre-rolled and rolling marijuana just like tobbacco, but instead of brands like camel and marlboro youll have ak 47, purpz, white widow and stuff like that.

legalisation doesnt mean everyones gonna become a pothead, it just puts a better light on people who are and lets them enjoy the herb freely with minimum stress. please get ur friends, relatives and everyone to sign because its easy to run your mouth about the government being fascist and shit (kinda true tho with the magic mushroom reclassification to a) and do something.

Hang on... we don't support the death peanalty but I don't see america running to follow suit.....we do allow abortion quite freely....not so in the states ..many other examples. Britain, although a pretty fucked up place, is certainly more liberal and even progressive than america in many ways. Probably because we don't have the 'moral majority of christians' problem to the same extent.
I think the UK's influence on the USA is zero in terms of social/plitical policy.

However - yes - leagalize cannabis now, and perhaps a few other substances too.

The chances of cannabis being legalised in the UK is very slim. Alot of smokers have this ideal stoner eutopia, and how the country will be like a bigger version of Amsterdam: it won't be. If it was to become legal, no way in hell would they be so liberal about it. Not in our lifetime will there be coffee shops dotted around the place, or over the counter purchases.

Cannabis should be legalised, but it hasn't been since it's introduction into Britain (atleast not to my knowledge), and it won't be legalised anytime soon either. Think realisticlly and petition for a reclassifaction first, and stop being so naive.

I used to smoke a lot of weed and hash - I mean a LOT, but I wouldnt sign it! Of course you will find evidence against what I am saying here but I doubt you will convince me otherwise because, I've seen how Amsterdam works and I can tell you for an absolute fact the Amsterdamers and Dutch people dislike the laws as they stand. While I am not entirely unsympathetic to decriminalisation of canabis in Britain - if it was the Dutch model of Decriminalisation/legalisation you want I would be absolutely against it. That city is absolutely rife with drug related crime and there is now huge support for the overturning of those laws in Amsterdam and other towns such as Lydon where it is (admittedly) not such a problem. The fact that Amsterdam is being touted by you as the model for its eventual legalisation would lead me to think that you merely want it legalised with no consideration of its impact on crime figures. Its not really worth arguing much over since both sides of that debate have compelling evidence both anecdotal and factual, so really I just wanted to state my two pence worth.
I think if there was a better model for its legalisation I could be convinced
that you are right, but in my opinion the dutch model caused too much impact on crime figures for the worse. muggings and burglary is way above acceptable anticipated levels

3 groupd of people I know who went to amsterdam from Britain all had their cars broken into and stuff stolen - one was mugged - all went within 3 years of each other abot 5 years ago. that city is absolutely horrendously crime riddled. you get offered heroin in the streets - its terrible

The weed seems to have killed off your brain cells you retard! It's a known fact that if it were legalised it'd be cheaper and more easily accessible. It'd be (or almost) as popular as smoking cigarettes. Everyone that I see smoking that shit is a loser of some kind, no one that's successful for actually using their brain smokes weed. And it's no coincidence that trailer trash and pikeys smoke it on a regs. I guarantee that if weed was legalised and as easy accessible and as cheap as tobacco you'll see more jobless folk, is that what you want for our country? (<--answer that when you arn't stoned please). Now don't throw a hissy fit just because I won't sign your little petition, go smoke a blunt and chill out or something!

PS - Trust me, your little campaign is fruitless, it won't ever be legalised in this country. ;)

Anaconda, your ignorance is shown through your lack of knowledge and your incoherent views on the subject. To generalise in such a way is extremely naive, and you're making a fool of yourself. I expect even Sentient, who's opinions are conservative (per sé) yet actually clear and logical, will find your views extremely flawed. The fact that you believe all drug users are the same, and unable to amount to anything in life, is such an unintelligent excuse that I honestly can't take it seriously. I, myself, am a drug user of such and I know for a fact that I will make a success of my life in the future, wheather it be financially or leisurely. There are members in this forum, which reflect the society of this country, who're actual proof that you can succeed regardless of drug use.

Success is measured by your want to do so, not on your want to smoke drugs.
