The last two paragraphs are complete garbage. Did you actually agree with them?

when hitlers war against britain failed he decided to open up a new front to weaken britain indirectly. russia was the only kid on the block to have the means to halt hitler. the russians not trusting the germans had hundreds of thousands of troops near the borders of german influence. (a german fighter pilot called heinz knocke speaks about this in his experiences with the german luftwaffe - using this as an eye witness account rather than a history book proper! in his book he tells about bombing and strafing the russian troops in the woods - clearly the russians weren't expecting the attack?? perhaps they loaded the woods with their political enemies knowing the germans were about to attack??..)

with the war on the eastern front grinding down to stalemate and a war of positions (like WW1) the american generals and political elite could be looking around for a new war they "know" they can win. this time they probably won't get bogged down trying to take the cities of iran or syria but by simply pounding them and their military by air. the first place to go will be the supposed nuclear bomb factory of the iranians. america needs a "win" in the middle east by having a good old conventional war in iran it might be able to be possible to defeat iran.

the naval build up in the persian gulf could be the preliminary build up to attack?? OR.. the build up to a massive retreat??, troops moved onto the aircraft carriers, helicopters can be used to ferry troops from iraq to the carriers and dumped over the side to make way for more helicopters.

    scenario X

america moves troops back from iraq and establishes forward positions back in saudi arabia. a frontline is established, no end to the war is forseeable, thus the frontline is fluid. the unused troops of iraq can be shipped off to america and put on rotation to saudi where few troop deaths will occur. iraq is continually bombed from the air in an ongoing aerial campaign. this way america is neither winning nor losing, the ongoing war allows america to balance its economy effectively and keeps its army battle ready. what we see today are the battle lines for the new century.

the only way to know what is going on is is through the logistics route, more weapons more man power, more food/water equals a long war.

the only way for iran/syria anyone else not to be attacked is for the war to carry on. as long as america is at war in iraq it will hesitate at missile strikes and making more enemies. in this respect if the americans start to retreat so we will see more attacks on troops to keep them engaged with the enemy.

    just a rambling thought...

its hard to know whats going on without hard figures of troop numbers and the facts and figures of logistics.

No Way ..After the lesson in Iraq..No other Gevernment will make another
war for the next 20 years at least..certainly not in this area anymore..and more certainly not with Iran...maybe a Cold war is more likely.
