Well my friends and I were out of weed one night so my other friend gave us two joints of some weird shit he bought at a local head shop. He said the guy said it would have almost the exact same effects as weed, but is legal. Well we smoked a joint of it and fuck all happened (as I pretty much expected). A few days ago, out of weed again I decided to bust open the other joint and pipe it. It was moist dark green plant material, definitely didn't smell or taste anything at all like bud. It tasted a lot like stem actually. But after smoking the bowl I was pleasantly surprised to realize that I was pretty "baked". It did feel almost EXACTLY like weed. (one thing I noticed though, is I didn't have a dry mouth and I didn't get muchy) I'm thinking it may have just been really really low grade weed but it didnt smell anything even remotely close to it.
Errr, there are quite a few weird plants you can buy that supposedly get you high. I've tried one or two of 'em on various occasions, and I've also tried this weird mix stuff a friend got once. Most of it is bunk, and doesn't do crap. Perhaps what you felt was a placebo effect? I don't think it was low-grade weed, your friend probably really did buy it at a headshop. My guess is it's wild lettuce, or 'opium lettuce'. Supposidly gives you a mild narcotic high, but I've never noticed anything from it.
Well it wasn't salvia, I've done salvia many times, and there was no way it was placebo. (I'm very very skeptical about this kind of stuff and I really wasn't expecting anything)
If it was Salvia, you would have been on Mars for about 10 minutes and then back to normal before you figured out where your balls went.
Hmmm...if you're SURE it's not placebo and your friend really DID get it in a headshop, then I'm curious too! Was it...umm.....sunichi grass or something? There's a porn store around here that sells it..they sell salvia and that 'fake bud' crap, too. I've heard that the sunichi (I may have the name completely wrong, that's just what is coming to me right now, btw) gives you some audio hallucinations and whatnot....did you hear things in a really weird, tripped out way? P.S. I think it's called Nicci grass. Or something. Gah, I can't remember.
