Having a greater freedom and more fun and enjoyment with flexibility rather than get tied down with the anchors of marriage. Being gay is far better than being straight. Tried it and it didn't work for me. I must go to Soho to find a boyfriend.

Okey so I had this nice bloke, not to thin, athletic thin and his name was Jason. Guy wasn't honest with me and he was unreliable in terms of meeting up. It was excuse after excuse. Eventually I ditched him and am now single:(

I'm glad for the unique view on life that being gay gave me. I fear that if I was straight, I might have ended up like so many other people in my family, being hateful and Conservative.

To be honest, I don't know, I honestly do not know. I guess being gay/lesbian etc.. to me is like being apart of a great big family, with constant reassurance that you are not the only one going through the hardships that one has to face when accepting one's sexuality and being open about it and what not. But besides all of that I just like the fact that so many homosexuals have made a name for themselves in a somewhat homophobic environment i.e; elton John, George Michael, the heavenly Boy George, Ellen DeGeneres etc.

This is something that I have actually thought a great deal about. I realized I was gay at a very young age. I always knew I was different from the majority of my peers. I became to come to terms with it at 16/17 years of age. At that age I lived in the library and I was a sponge reading everything on homosexuality I could find. However, I received many mixed signals from my reading materials (this was the mid to late 1970's). I read a book published by Karla Jay titled "After You Are Out" which I still own to this day. It was incredible. It was so helpful for a young gay person coping with the coming out process. I know I have been rambling on about shit but, I felt I need to set things up.

I think being gay has provided me with a keen insight. I am more in touch with my feelings and the feelings of others due to my experiences of being a gay black man in American society. I know I am more accepting of diversity in others because of my homosexuality. I am very proud to be gay and I am very happy being the person I am.

I don't believe being gay should be about a certain look or personality! It's about people- in all their wonderful variety. I hope you can truly find people who are like you- and happen to be gay, too. I don't have tips- I met my lover by chance, and she is my best friend, my lover, my partner, and my dream come true. I couldn't have found her if I looked for a thousand years probably. Sometimes it just happens when you least expect it.

I agree, I would really encourage all guys who work out they are going to be exclusive gay to seriously consider the move to the big city. Its just too stressfull hanging around too many straight people, especially when they get older and crankier, too frustrating having limited options in potential partners

While I consider myself bi, it is a choice I made for myself. Being a college student living at home, my parents [my Dad especially] have their noses up my ass all the time and are always trying to dictate my life. While I havent come out to them yet, its reassuring to know that I can do my own thing sometimes.
