The main difference between regionals and the National Gathering is SIZE! A state/regional gathering can have anywhere from 50 people to a few thousand i suppose.

A regional may have only one "local" kitchen to feed the entire gathering. Or it could have a couple "local" kitchens, a travelling kitchen, coffee or tea spot... up to having ten or more full kitchens, a few cafes, 4 or 5 coffee/tea spots, a yoga spot or 2, a Krishna camp...

At a National, folks from all the regions... and all the travellers as well show up together... meaning 40-50 kitchens, as many smaller cafes, 10-20 coffee/tea spots, several yoga spots, couple massage spots, raging A camp, 1/4 mile trade circle, tipis and tipi villages, dozens of wingnuts, sweatlodges, full camps just for supply/shitter, Welcome Home, Kid Village etc...(and more).
