I went to the doc and she prescribed me Minocycline for my acne. I start it tomorrow and was wondering if anyone had tried it before? I have tried Tetracycline...for some reason I dont remember it working too well....anyone been on Mino b4?
I've tried it (and tetracycline). Both of them helped for a bit, and then stopped working. Fewer side effects on mino if I remember right.
The dermatologist put me on monocycline and it did marginally decrease my acne..i must admit i wasn't always on the abll when it came to taking my medication every day, but i didn't forget that often. Eventually I was prescribed accutaine which worked very well, although to this day I still have some acne but not near as bad. After my treatment i was completely clear then about 6 months later i started getting a little bit. Sometimes it is neccesary to take accutaine in two cycles, but i haven't gone back. If u have any more questions just pm me.
Taking antoboitics for acne is a really unfortunate way to go because they eventually destroy your body's natural defenses. Acne is a liver problem which can be alleviated by eating a diet of whole foods and cutting back on fats and sugars. Animal fat is especially a problem but vegetable fats have to be radically reduced also. All sugars including fruits and natural sweeteners like honey have to be likewise cut back. Learn about natural foods and vegan diet, one based on whole grains, beans, and vegetables along with natural vitamin and mineral supplements. Nuts and seeds can be a small part of it but again you have to watch the fats. Pollution from city life(mostly motor vehicle emissions) and smoking tobacco or pot will also clog the liver and contribute to acne. The methods you are thinking of using, pharmaceutical drugs, are a stopgap that may work for a short time but the negative side effects will eventually take their toll and can ruin your health in a very fundamental way. If you have any questions PM me. Good luck. I know first hand the suffering and devastation that acne can cause and I deeply sympathize but please don't also become a victim of the medical establishment as well. Love The Crazy One
I took Tetracylcine for a while, and it really cleared my face up a lot. Now I'm no longer taking them, and my face is still looking good.
