Over the summer, there were a lot of "hippie" skirts in every store in my area. Now, everyone has moved on to... whatever it is now. I can't keep up with fashion, but I haven't seen any bellbottoms or disco stuff where I live.

Anyhow, if '70s stuff does "come back," I think it'll just be a fashion statement, and everyone will move on once the fashion designers decide that it's time to move on to something "cooler." (That's what fashion people do - make everyone obsessed with what they're wearing, and feed everyone's need to fit in and to consume more and more. It's completely bogus, but whatever.)

I dont see a lot of disco shirts or anything but I do see a lot of bell bottom shirts coming back in. Thats like the new fad. I noticed over this summer that a lot of girls are wearing the old skool stretchy pants I used to wear back when I was a kid in the eighties. They wear them a lot under longer shirts that look a lot like a skirt. Funny cause I think they were one of the worst things I wore when I was a kid. MAn I looked funny LOL but then again I was a kid back then and didnt really care. Eh whateva floats ur boat. Im not much into trends anyhow. If I like somethin I get it if I cant make it myself.

The tight legging pants and big shirts were more 80's though weren't they (I wasn't really around for most of the 80s but I'm just going by the pics of Donna (my mom) when she was young in the 80s)....Around here (OH) I'm not really seeing 70s clothing but 80s clothing like the big shirts and leggings and straight legged aka skinny jeans...I only know this much because its what is popular at my university...but I dont subscribe to that bs, I'll wear what I want to and eventually the sheep will wear what i'm wearing until something else comes along a few weeks after....(Brkonthru2daothersid you're right on with what you said)...

What I found funny: I've been wearing "hippie skirts" since the 8th grade, and in the past couple years they're somewhat popular. This who being fashionable thing was new to me. Whatever. I've noticed subtle hints of 70s fashion here and there, but I think - sadly - the 80s are once again revived (for the umpteenth time).

they have been selling bell bottoms and flared jeans here since i was about 14 or 15... I dig some of the 70s stuff

but I would hate to have really bad disco leisure suits come back, there are not many people who can pull them off =)

They've had bell bottoms since I was around 12. The first time I saw them I was 11, in 5th grade. this girl who everyone wanted to deress like came in wearing them, and everyone was like... Oooh! you're so brave! what a trendsetter! lol. none of my classmates had ever seen bell bottos before and it was like it was the newest thing! lol.
