When I came into this thread and firstly said that I think homosexuality is wrong, I failed to mention the fact that many of the things I do/have done in my life are just as wrong. I didn't mean to sound that I was looking down on anyone. It took me a long time to be able to see that sin = sin. None worse or better than the next. I don't think all homosexuals are going to hell, because their are good and bad of all walks of life.
I think the only reason I felt 'bad energy' is because of the miscommunication of me saying 'I'm better than you,' which I didn't mean to imply. PEACE

this turned out to be an interesting conversation..

ive wondered for a long time what made pple feel the urge to say "this is wrong" and interfere in other pple's lives in that way. imo, if something doesnt hurt anyone, why the hell would i interfere? if a man loves another man and everyones happy, why on earth would i go and ruin their happiness? what would it bring to anyone? its not like my own happiness is threatened by other pple's happiness.

so yea, my question. i take it its religion that makes u go and say "this is wrong, booo this is sin, u mustnt live like that cuz its sin". but, isnt religion supposed to bring out the good? isnt religion supposed to be about tolerance and acceptance and everybody's happiness? i get the concept of sin and rules of life, i understand that some of us need that to 'regulate' their lives, but why does man think his duty is to go tell other men how to live their lives?

i think right = no one hurting, and wrong = someone hurting.
and it seems to me that most religions say right = this religion, and wrong = not this religion. it just sounds weird to me.

Man, if I could rid the world of the word CHOICE, I would. Like it's a choice! Oh, yeah, I chose to be discriminated against, I chose to have to hide my lifestyle, I chose to be bashed.

I just get so incensed by the word.

People who are gay, ARE. They didn't chose it - it is.

If only people who have sexual encounters would describe them as such. Not as a "homosexual" encounter, or a "heterosexual" encounter. How about loving between two people - wouldn't that be nice?

    Language sometimes really sucks!

P.S. Sam, I'm drunk today, so am alittle more expressive than normal - hahhahahaha - forgive me!

I've been across the USA quite a few times and met lots of different people...I have had friends who are gay or Bi and some I know are straight...most of them I have no idea. It just isn't important enough for me to have to ask everyone about their sex life and couldn't imagine having to ask everyone about their sex life before I could be comfortable sharing a bus seat with them, and I don't understand anyone who feels the need to beat this subject to death.

Wonderfully stated Tara, I completely concur. My homosexuality was no more of a choice than my sex or race.

Letlovintakehold, I hope you carefully read the posts on this thread. You have a great deal of internalized homophobia. You stated that your opinions are a product of the enviornment in which you were reared.

At least, you are examining these beliefs therefore there is hope. I hope you are able to come to the conclusion that people are people. An individual's sexual orientation is inconsequential.

You have this the wrong way around. Many gay boys/men people act more feminine than straight guys, but this is a reaction to their underlying sexual feelins and inclinations, and a public way of expressing them and identifying with others simlar to them. Gay people act this way (sometimes) because of the innate physical sexual feelings that they experience.

What can be more accurately be explained by the subconscious mind is ~your~ innate need to reject homosexuality, and to see heterosexuality as the correct form of sexual expression. This subconscious sentiment has evolved into the human mind as a means for strengthening the reproductive process. We, as modern, conscious, thinking humans, have a duty to look past these old instincts and realise that we are no longer just physical bodies.

perhaps you and i have a different view on what being masculine and feminine is about.

i was just trying to state most gays do not fit the "gay stereotype".

no reason to step on my toes here.

what you have just stated, which I agree with, appears very different to what you originally put
at any rate what ever your view on masculine is, I very much doubt you would consider me to be it, if you met me
