Yesiree! We found out a few weeks ago that we are going to be parents again! It was unexpected but definately not unwanted! I am feeling extrememly tired, grossed out by most foods, the usual fun first trimester! Now I have to go to the dr's in a week in a half to get all started with my appointments, etc. I am so scared to know if we are going to have twins again. I am about 7-8 weeks(I am guessing) and I am already showing. I am a small girl to start with. I don't know if I will be more scared or prepared for another double dose!! hahaha I wouldn't mind though! I should be due around the first week of August, and the twins will be 4 in August as well. My SIL is expecting twins now too, so I am taking a stab at it, that it runs on my side(obviously which it does) and my Sweetie's too! I will fill you all on with more info when I get it! Does anyone have any insider tips on things you ate(Candy, crackers, drinks) to make the yuckies go away! I am not"sick (vomiting)" (((Knocks on wood))) But feel very picky and grossed out. Although this week was a better week than last!
BIG congratulations! That's exciting. I could only eat ham and bologna for about 6 months. Occasionally, I could sneak some foods in on Alexis, but not often. So, I can't help you out with the sickness.
congratulations! I heard that citrus smelling things help with that yucky feeling. I had some Orange ginger body lotion that I used constantly during the first few months and it really helped me. It was amazing. I'd just open the bottle and smell it and I felt almost instantly better, plus it made my skin super soft. As for foods and stuff... i ate alot of crackers, and oatmeal with fruit in it. I actually ate alot of fruit in general. Seems like it was one of the only things I could stand eating all the time. Mandarin oranges are still my favorite. good luck, and congrats again!!!!
congrats!!!! it was around this time last year that i found out i was pregnant! august is an awful month to be pregnant in!!!!!! the only thing that helped me with my morning sickness whas chicken broth and crackers!! good luck!
Congrats and good luck! Glad your girls are the age they are - perfect timing for them to throw themselves into big sisterhood!
Congrats, eat only what feels like you can eat, and take your Folic Acid supplements. I'll light a candle that it is only one baby. I've had twin scares, too. If it is, that is what it will be, but, you know it is difficult. Most womyn show a lot earlier with the second pregnancy. Good luck, Let us know what is happening.
Thanks Everyone! I am taking one day at a time!! Haha Maggie..I'm praying too! But I almost feel like I will be disappointed if there is only one! Strange I know..but I am so used of two of everything. I have been really trying to take my vitamins, but those have been grossing me out too....Uuuuggghhh What a holiday diet this will be! LOL
first, CONGRATS!!!! try taking vitamins without iron in them. the ones with iron made me really sick, bad sick. My doc got bent out of shape about it, until he tested my iron levels, which were just fine (I cook in cast iron skillet every day).
You sound just like me! If I were to become pregnant again, I'd want another set of twins, or heck, triplets even! People think I'm nuts! But I'm not having any more children (had severe complications with my last birth, which was the twins. Plus my OB/GYN says that I have an 80% chance of conceiving multiples again! Can you believe that?! Anyway, I'm considered extremely high risk and have been advised not to conceive again by quite a few doctors.) That's okay, I've got three kids and I'm so lucky to have them! But yeah, I can totally relate to feeling that way!
If you have a tea ball, something that helps my wife when she has the sickness, get some fresh ginger root or fresh peppermint, and make some tea out of it. they both help a lot with nasuea. The ginger root tea has a bit of spice to it though
Thanks HCM! It has been a joy raising the twins. I just feel like I am cut out for it again, if that's what the big guy wants me to do! And Thanks for the Ginger Root Idea HL, I absolutely love Ginger Root. Although I am not a tea drinker. I am going to buy more fresh ginger and put it in my ginger ale, which I prefer drinking warm lately! I love the spiciness of it too, knocks the sourness out of my system. :elf:
congratulations! Ginger candy from the health food store. Ummm, something that I've recommended since my 1st trimester and given to me by my Midwife (and then I also took a nutrition class)... is drink protein shakes, favored any way you want. I used to drink a Spirutien soy shake with fruit thrown in. I recommend that you dissolve your vitamin in a small amount of water (if it doesn't dissolve, get a new kind, because it's probably not digesting properly... food based pre-nats are the best really) but then after you dissolve your vitamin in the small amount of water, throw it in your shake.... I believe that protein shakes are a better answer to the blood sugar highs and lows. THe nutrition digests more slowly and releases over time, rather than a spike of carbs and then a bottoming out... crackers will give you that. Think of it as a smooth ride, rather than a roller coaster. It is believed that low blood sugars make one more woosey-sensitive to the pregnancy hormones. Making the protein shakes, either with soy or whey protein, you can tailor them to your taste! Also some health food stores carry plain soy or whey protein shake powder in the bulk section. I'm vibing you a wonderful joyful pregnancy and a safe and satisfying delivery!
I had the worst sickness for my first five months. I couldn't do anything all day and always felt like shit, so I can't help you out there. but congratulations!!
congrats!!!! nak - taking vit b6 supplements worked for me and those seaband things helped a bit too.
