I have been transfering some thirtyfive year old tapes of my grandfather playing the fiddle to cd. Poor sound quality, but oh the memories. He died in 97 at the age of 92, and my brother and I thought he was old fashioned way back when. We were hip and into rock. Then, not too long before he died he told us about how he had ridden a bus a couple times with Woody G. and how he had saved to buy a harmonica and played till his lips bled. He played it upside down cause thats how he taught himself. My god, friends, we stand on the shoulders of giants. Here's to you Grandpaw--- I love you. You worked like a mule all your life and played, fiddle, mandolin, harp, guitar like an angel.
