what kind of wax did you use and do you feel they turned out how you wanted??? are your dreads thick or skinny (the individual dreads)??? How long have you had them and do you think you could brush out a fraction of them with alot of hard work and a few bottles of conditioner? Is it easy to allow normal hair to grow back in as they grow out, without cutting them first (as in start at the roots where theres new growth and comb downward until you hit the dreads)?
yeah, you should go to the knotty know how forum for this.. but i'm bored so i'll answer here. what kind of wax did you use and do you feel they turned out how you wanted??? no wax. if you insist on using wax, use it in VERY small ammounts and use tea tree wax. and wash your hair well.. ... and yes they turned out how i wanted them, as products of mother nature. are your dreads thick or skinny (the individual dreads)??? i have a few small ones that have formed recently on their own. but the majority are thick. How long have you had them and do you think you could brush out a fraction of them with alot of hard work and a few bottles of conditioner? i've had dreads since april.. i combed out my first set with LOTS of conditioner after three months, and had normal hair for a month for court. and yes you can do it. at any time. its just very painful and slow. Is it easy to allow normal hair to grow back in as they grow out, without cutting them first (as in start at the roots where theres new growth and comb downward until you hit the dreads)? what? i dont get it? do you mean, you want to get rid of them, so you are just hoping the hair will grow out and you can cut the dread part and its all normal? as it grows, even if you dont roll your hair, it dreads... you have to take the dread out to stop the new growth from dreading...
No way is my hair gonna do its own thing. i like manipulating it, not in the traditional way with spray glue, or by frying it but i like braiding it and weaving in beads and knotting and then leaving it in for awhile, i like brushing it, etc. but that's actually a good idea though, let it do its own thing however, i will be twisting strands of it because it seems it would be easier to get them out when i need or want too if they are just matting on their own. sorry about the repeat thing. I always forget to look for it first when posting on forums.
What kind of hair do you have now? Cause my hair was so curly that all I did was grow it long without combing it, let it get naturally tangled/matted, then seperate it. Of course, the fact that I didn't wax them or twirl them made it so that mine don't look like "conventional" dreads, and instead are real thin and unidentical. "Crazy" describes them good.
right now my hair is really long, like...down to my butt, hasn't been cut in forever so its ragged not straight across and very very straight.
