If you are a fan of the books, don't go see the movie because it doesn't do the book justice. Use your minds eye and not the movie.

    *** No spoilers ***

I liked the first two books of the trilogy, but the movie DID NOT FOLLOW THE BOOK very well. It was very lame, the characters flat, VERY cheesy back ground music and not to mention a feeling of being very rushed. I did think they did a good job getting actors that played Eragon and Roran look so very much alike (cousins in the book). there were 5 of us that read the books and saw the movie and came away "expecting more". LOL

the kid that wrote the book had nothing to do with the movie other than being the inspiration. he did have a backward reference to Dune in the first book, one of the early dragon riders name was Bid Daum (Maud Dib), lots of Star Wars and LoTR simularity

when the Urgals show I was expecting "a Capitol One" credit card to pop up. LOL

I wasn't expecting that much, and I was still disappointed. I agree about the made-for-Hallmark score, and the special effects, acting, plot line . . . . basically everything about the film actually . . . were horrible. The bat thing was cool, but the Shade's makeup looked like something out of a movie with a soundtrack by Queen, if you know what I mean.

    Terrible waste of $8. Yuck!

same thing with harry potter, first time i saw it (way back in middle school) me and my friend were severly dissapointed. sad fact is that there is so much you can do in a book that is limited in reality. that and it would take too long to fit everything in a book on the movie screen, escpecially a movie for kids, because they cant sit for very long.
