If it is survival we're talking about, bread is the only absolute necessity on your list. Wine is not needed for survival, and while sex is needed to ensure the collective survival of the race, it is not an absolute necessity. If it was, then either voluntary celibacy, or enforced celibacy (prisoners etc) would not be possible.

 

BBB, if you don't need those 3 things (known as the Holy Triangle Of Life) then, i don't agree, you're not alive.
Learn some history, you will find that soldiers of all eras swear by it (but with variation of each of course, except in middle ages, they're so elite). Are you better survivalist than them ?... Of course not. It means you're wrong.

This is cute, as a bit of humor, but in seriousness, it's wrong. Shelter, Water, and Food, in that order, is what is needed to survive. One generally won't be happy with just those (you'd need Friendship, Love, and Entertainment, among others), but that's what you need to stay biologically alive.

This is what exactly every single other creature needs in this world to "survive".

This is why we call it bondage.

Survival was the word if I recall - that doesn't mean 'living it up' - it means survival. I actually know a fair bit about history, and it is mainly a tale of woe. Those who can't live without alchohol and sex are clearly less free than those who can. As Jedi says in his post, it is these things that bind us to illusion, ignorance and slavery.
Soldiers of all eras were mainly vicious, bloodthirsty and de-humanized victims of a disfunctional system. Those who seek peace and love would do well to shun their example.
And in this age there are many who have given them up. Then, their real lives began...............

I'm sure my spelling is right. It's "survivalist". It means you're great at survival, and know lot of stuff about it (like the said Holy Triangle of Life).
This is not sexist at all, women just run on a slightly different basis (The Godmother Triangle), ahem, which make males and females complementary.

Enlightenment is having a lot to feed the 3 corners of the Triangle. This means you have energy to kick ennemies' asses, when you're back home you PARTAY and utimately you spread superior genes.
