'Tales from the thousand lakes' is a great album, and everyone who loves death, doom or traditional heavy metal should love this! 'Drowned maid' and 'Black winter's day' are wonderful songs. I don't know about any other material of Amorphis, except 'The Karelian isthmus' (from before TftTL), which is more straightforward old-school death metal, which I'm not at all a fan of.
I like the Karelian Isthmus (however I'm not fond of death metal to often), Tales from the 1000 lakes and Elegy the most. I didn't checked out the latest albums though. Live they're great as well!
im listening to themn now and were getting stoned as fuck and its so tight cuz now i got this puter in my room and i can tell you guys
there are no flowers on your grave there are no chains. i dont really like the older grunty stuff. i like Alone and tose.
If I could bribe you, I would, but instead you'll have to take my word for it: there's more going on there than simply primitive metal. That album tries to be both beautiful and heavy at the same time, and it's a masterpiece as a result. I got it used and thought it was generic on the first listen, then really got into it. Simple but effective.
