i dig "work me, lord" and of course, "ball and chain"

i'm a big fan of her early recorded work though, gotta love those classic blues and folk tunes!

 

"Half Moon" on Pearl, and the whole Cheap Thrills album are my faves.

 

Half Moon - an excellent choice! "As Good As You've Been To This World" has a great groove and message as well!

 

Half Moon is excellent. Ball and Chain is a great one too. Any Big Brother song is insane though.

lately its been her cover of StJames Infirmary, but I love em all. Combination of the Two and Intruder have been on my mind alot lately to tho. I just cant pick!

are you talking about Live at Winterland? it's a good disc, but i prefer the live bootleg shows - cheaper thrills is a good example of a live show recording - really shows off their raw, early improv sound

Janis wrote songs, but also had songs written for her. One of her compositions that I dig is Women Is Losers.
