Yep, the same dude on the Supreme Court, who doesn't want to raise minium wage, says that the average 165,200 a year Fed Judges make "isn't enough to raise a family." ..........for judges. But, I guess minium wage is enough for the rest of us trash. Hippocrite. Thoughts, mamas? Hell. I'd LOVE 165,200 a year.
Hmph. The job I'm applying for at Partsearch will make me less than $20,000 a year. And that's a good job.
man people are so materialistic sheesh. hell we dont have "regular" jobs and we are managaing. sheesh what a butthead. i think that this guy should spend a year in one of our "shoes" and see if he says it's hard to raise a family on 165,000 a year.
Wow, I'd sure like to try to suffer through "only" $165k. Heck, I'd love to know what it's like to "suffer" through 1/4 of that! Sure would be easier than what we're living on. love, mom
I dunno... what if they paid public servants average wages? think things would be a LOT different, wouldn't they? What if being president paid, I don't know, $60k per year (you know, a little extra for the stress levels), none of that lifetime pension crap or cushy benefits. Let's go ahead and pay them hourly instead. What do you think, $20/hour seems fair, no more than what they do. $15/hour for the ones who don't have to pay off high-priced student loans, even less for those jobs that don't even require a degree. How many hours do most judges put in any given week, anyway?
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not sure if that's my anger or my stomach growling as my family of four survives on $24,000. grrrrrrrrrrrr.
Oh really My father's job pays just under two thirds of that* and we are very comfortably off as a family of four. Not exactly rolling in it, but can always provide what we need. Which I know people can do on even less more if they're sensible. *just put it through a currency converter ($165,200 = £84,062.7) ... though presumably there is a diffrence in the cost of living between there and the UK.
I'm at less than one eighth of that and I HAVE a degree and a "white collar job." sure, you are asking lawyers to leave private practice, although they could continue to profit take from a firm they created, so yeah, you want good candidates. but I'd want to know all benefits before making a complete judgment call (har). If it's $165K flat w/o car and travel, well, for the type of profesional you want, that IS market. we should readdress how our employment market works. WHy should the hardest physical jobs have lousy pay?
Alan Greenspan got paid less. Goverment workers are overpaid in general. Let Scalila go work in private industry if he's not happy.
Exactly. REGULAR normal, middle and working class people would be in government and making the laws. Not the rich and their heirs. No Bushes, no Scalias, no Kennedy's, no Roves, just Ravins, and Boogies, and Sugars, and Hippy and Mono, and Fairy and Pineys and Terrapins and drumins and stomys ect. In other words, regular people, KNOWING what regular people need and want making the laws and legislating them, for other normal people. What a world THAT would be, EH?
