Damn, I just found out that I'll be only making €1465 NET/month... when moving to Amsterdam.. this makes me think quite a lot, in the other hand everything is quite a bit cheaper than here, and I found Dublin to be a shithole so I guess I'm going back to student budget in nice athmosphere rather than stay here and make bit more money... Any opinions from people living in A'dam, can one live with that?
Well I sure hope so.. well things will get better once my GF finds a job there, untill that, it's gonna be low budget life...
i can give you a few tips for living on a budget, one if live close to your job,get a bike, theres tons around and you can find em cheap. two dont shop at Albert Heijn for food if you can, they are the most expensive,Vomars and DekkaMarts are the way to go. three if you need to travel by tram or bus often buy a gvb card at CS, for 59 euros you get unlimited travel (2 zones) for 59 euros a months,it saves me a tad instead of buying strippenkarts over and over.
Wow! I didn't know that life was so expensive in Amsterdam. I earn €1500/month here in Athens (Greece) and I can save about €200-€300 each month. And we (all greeks) are complaining all the time that life is expensive here
thats a bummer. if it makes you feel any better i spent roughly 35-40% of my savings for my vacation to amsterdam just for a week lol (airfare sucks).
