begginer grower needs help

wussup everyone, i have read for hours and hours on growing, but to be honest theres so much stuff, its really overwhelming, and i get confused finding that not all the info is compatible and parrallel with one another.

i have tryed growing once and got caught with twenty1 plantsby parents on my bday...lol....anyways the question to start this is how and when would i be able to tell if the plant is male or female...is it the hairs? or what... please help on this one...thanks

oh yea im currious on another, how do you get the buds for best potency, with the final process of picking and flowering...thanks

 

during the first second week of flowering, the 12 hour light cycle- the plants start showing signs of sex, females develop white hairs at internodes, males grow little pollen balls on the stem.

only way to determine sex without flowering the whole plant, is toi take a cutting and flower that- it will show u witch plants are witch.

potency and quality depends on seeds,care and environment or setup.
if growing outside the more light the spot gets the better, ull need to replant some good soil, with fertiliser, proper care- visiting plants more than a few times a week and watering em. if growing indoors start with the best light u can afford- prefferably fluorescents for vegging and HPS for flowering. also u can just use HPS (high pressure sodium) with a double spectrum bulb for both stages. carefull watering and fertiliser use gives better results. good ventilation will prevent over heating, mold and too humid conditions- also if u want u can provide extra co2 which should give better buds. the seeds is the main most important thing, shit seeds will give shit weed even if jesus grows it himself, ull need to buy good seeds- theres thousands either from websites, seedbanks or friends. choose a strain which u like and begin. also get a good grow book like the indoor bible be jorge cervantes, if u follow everything exactly u will reap some good dank

 

preciate the response to my questions.....it really helps to actually talk to someone bout it insteda of jus read and interpret all thes webpages, then try to make the best decision...yea all of it together makes it kinda hard to interpret the right way todo it.....but anyways, so to familiarize myself a little more on the subject.

how do you get the cuttings?not really sure i understand that.

so this is what i have interpreted so far....please correct me if im wrong anyone...

i get white widow and Durban poison seeds.....1. i can either grow directly in soil or start them in germination which im not exactly sure how to do, but believe i have an idea
2. get all materials soil, pots, humidity detector, lights, etc...ok now that its started growing i get to my main question. On seed banks it gives a time period for growing, most say between 8-10 weeks....ok if that is so then how come i hear people talkin about it takes atleast three to four months to grow which would be 12-16 weeks? Would the cycle go somn like this veg.=5wks flower=3wks then cut/hang=1-2wks?

3. when growing say a lighter colour bud, say like widow that doesnt show much red hairs, how do i know when to cut and hang?

CO2 augmentation does not increase potency. It speeds up veg time, that's it.

-My preferred method of germination is to plant each seed in dirt, each seed on it's side 1/2 deep.
-Plants should reach sexual maturity before inducing flowering. This takes from 3--6 weeks of veg and is indicated by alternating nodes or preflowers. --Flowering takes from between 8--10 weeks depending on strain Sativa's can take up to 12 weeks (or even longer).
-Max THC occurs when 75% of the bud hairs change color from clear/milky to red/brown.
-Bag drying is superior to hang drying.
-Growrooms need ventilation, more than leaving the door open.

Cloning is more involved. You should get a grow book that will give you step-by-step directions, with pictures.

Add: you should not grow in anyone's house unless you have permission from the rentpayer. If you can't get permission, grow out in the woods.

How do i know when the veg period is up and i should start flowering???

 

YOU get to deciede when veg is over.

You want to wait until the plants are sexually mature, which generally occurs 3--6 weeks pf veg, and is indicated by alternating nodes (branches). After that, how long you continue to veg is up to you. Obviously the bigger the plant is when you switch to flowering, the bigger the yield.
BUT be aware that during the 1st 3 weeks of flowering the plant will more than double in height. Plants that are 15" tall when put into flowering will end up approx. 3' tall after the 1st 3 weeks of flowering.
