I don't really meditate much anymore, I kind of lost "faith" in it; but lately I've been doing this thing called a heart meditation. I heard about it a long time ago, where you sit there and feel your heartbeat from within. Like following breath but with the heart. I didn't look far into it because you had to pay for the info, but the site did mentione that besides simply staying with the heart, you could sort of direct your pulse to parts of your body that need healing. One example was a guy I think who had severe nerve damage in his foot that he healed within a few weeks doing that. I don't know about all that, but blood does carry all the nutrients, oxygen, and carries away waste, so maybe there's somthing to it. Besides, focusing your attention on an injury (or just for general health) in a loving, positive way can't be bad. The ancients used to think the blood was the soul itself, or the vital force, so this isn't without precedent anyways.

But I've been doing this a little bit the last few days, and I can't tell you how good it can make you feel. Better than any other meditation I've ever done, it's like really getting down to the base rhythm of my life, my pulse. Been with me since a few weeks into my life, and it's good to get in tune with it. It's letting me really feel connected, in the sense of not being a bunch of parts and organs, but a single whole. One night I took my attention through every part of my body, from my toes to my head. The feeling of positivity and joy was amazing, I felt so alive.

Just wanted to try recommending this to everyone out there who's burned out on regular meditation, or just wants to try something new.

Thanks for sharing your heart meditation experience. I'll try it, too.

Thank you for the information. I've never heard of that type of meditation before. I'll have to try it soon!

Good deal. You guys won't regret it, it's the most rewarding meditation sort of thing I've ever done.

It's amazing too, how when you get into it, you can feel your pulse everywhere. From your earlobes and nose to your knees and toes (hey, that rhymes :)). Makes sense of course, since blood flows everywhere, but once you develop the sensetivity to it, it's really quite amazing. My goal, if you can call it a goal, is to be able to feel my entire body pulsing all at once. That'd be cool as hell.

Resting the awareness into the body is a profoundly powerful way of realising inner benefits.

When I rest the awareness into either the heart or the hara area below it, there is instant benefit. In the heart, it cultivates well being and love and changes lust into love. At the hara, it brings the mind to stillness almost instantly and effortlessly. A sense of rock like stability to mind and emotions. Wonderful.

These can be the natural places for the awareness to be at all the time, so that each moment has these qualities in a living meditation. From experience, it is attachment that takes awareness out of these paces, attachments that are to be let go of.

    Peace and love

Personally, I find it... weird or it kinda makes me cringe when feeling my heartbeat or pulse. I guess it's just a phobia. It could never do that kind of meditation :p

^ I was thinking the exact same thing. I have a huge fear of death and I really don't want to throw myself into a panic attack, but it does sound interesting enough for me to want to try it.
