My dad asked me tonight why I smelled like an ash tray.
I of course retorted with the ol' "I don't smell like an ash tray, thanks for telling me I smell like an ash tray, you dick."
I'd like to retain that old citrus-y-homecooked-apple-pie kind of smell, really.
Plus, my father would disown me if he found out I smoked.
And I really can't risk that.
So, it is teh goodbye for teh smokes.
Ryan gets them for her 18th birthday tomorrow.
A bit ironic: me giving her something she can now buy legally.
    Oh well. C'est la vie.
    Jesus, I'm gonna be cranky.

Ah Kryz... It's all for the better. I know the romanticism is gone, but there's always candles and typewriters and coffee for those types of things. Good luck, chér.

Just keep yourself occupied with other shit. The hardest thing for me to quit was being with my friends that were smoking, I was basically foaming at the mouth for a dag when they had one but as soon as they were done smoking it, I was fine and my mind was occupied with something else. A little marijuana didn't hurt here and there either.

I quit every time that I put one out. The dumbest thing I have ever done (trust me that's saying something), is start smoking. Good luck!

    The physical part of quitting smoking is over in the first week, which will be the hardest part. It will probably take you a year to quite completely, but if you can get through the first week, that is 50% of the battle. Here are some suggestions;

    1. Go cold turkey, cutting down does not work, you need to stop completely.
    2. Get the nicotine gum, it takes the edge off the fits.
    3. You will need to change other habits as well, stay out of bars for awhile, give up the coffee, basically anything your body associates with smoking you are going to have to stop doing for at least 3 months.
    4. Don't freak out if you fall off the wagon, don't beat yourself up over bumming a smoke off someone. Just take a deep breath and start over. Whatever you do, do not buy a pack.
    5. This is the worst part, if you have friends who smoke, you need to either ask them not to smoke around you or you need to stay away from them.

I still can't see why anyone would ever smoke one of those disgusting radon-enriched fuckers.

Haha... I guess my common misconception is that it must make one feel rather hardcore.

I'm down to a couple bowls a day because herb just helps me meditate on things with clarity without having a biased opinion/viewpoint... That and I usually bring a guitar with me to my morning class and jam during break or if I'm on a bus or something and it really helps me focus on tests or during anything musical. Sometimes it makes me view little things in life as some sort of childlike journey, and I certainly enjoy the change every now and then.

Most people ask me if I'd smoked that morning when I'm jamming... haha, at times, it really surprises people if I say no.

i never wanted to smoke...my dad did, and I hated it. I cannot explain why I chose to do so. I smoke only American Spirits, the lesser of all the evils. They give a good chunk of their profits to great organizations, and pay their farmers more to use organic methods....and a lot of the tobacco farmers that supply AS are from around the carolinas, tenn, virginia....i feel good knowing that my money and my habit is at least supporting someone out there......

And they love you... That's the thing, I don't like to view people who smoke cigarettes as if they're smoking them. I look at it the other way around, wheras the cigarette, in actuality, is smoking you.

Cannabis does not penetrate into the chambers of the lungs that tobacco does, as their smoke contains totally different things, which is why there is no correlation with cancer, even though it may contain more resin/oils. In fact, a friend of mine (name is Ted) owns a pit bull named Thunder. Thunder has won numerous awards... including being in the Eukenuba dog show. Anyway, we both put our heads together on a therapy regiment after reading up on Jack Herer's knowledge of things, after we found out that Thunder had a cancerous tumor.

After doing that and a few months pass, the tumor totally dissapeared.

agreed. Rat poisin totally turns me on. But whatever. I guess at shows around here the kids pick up cloves to puff on. So then I smell like a ciggie and incense. Ha oh well.

Good luck to you. One of my friends told me sex worked for her.

The only way to quit smoking is to quit drinking. For at least a month.

    Why not 18?

That's the thing that kills me... I could quit smoking the reefer right now, wheras alot of people choose to smoke cigarettes instead... or as a substitute.

I've just never been able to comprehend the point.
