intercepted signs... what's the deal?

Sounds like a Seinfield episode huh? Anyway, I noticed that I have scorpio on my ascedant and sagg on the first house...along with gem/taurus desc. Does anyone have a similar chart ...such as I? If so let the freaks unite!
Are there any benefits to this?

 

an interecepted sign means it's entirely contained within one house. Say you have Scorpio on the Ascendant and Capricorn on the 2nd house cusp, that would mean Sagitarrius is interecpeted in the 1st house. in other words, it doesn't rule any house. Yes it has some dual influence on the 1st house but it's muted. the saguttarius and jupiter energy in your chart doesn't have full expression becaue it doesn't rule any house.

 

No, Im aquarius/leo intercepted. I also have aries in 5th.6th houses and libra in my 11th and 12th...do you know what this means? I googled some of it and a lot of it gave me some negative feedback so im assuming its not a good thing.

You are fine, actually super fine.

 

super, it's the same idea whatever sign is intercepted has some influence on whatever house it's intercepted in and the sign and ruler might not find full expression. it's not a big deal not the most important thing in your chart. Until you get the hang of planets signs aspects houses and rulerships, don't worry too much about the other influences.

 

What you may want to do is look at progressions. What do you think will happen when your intercepted sign now is on an angle, for instance?

I find that intercepted signs tend to happen during the northern winter months. Is that the case in your chart?

wait man so what are you saying, because the only intercepted signs i see here are aquarius and leo in the 3rd and 9th houses??? you have a good many plants above the horizon which is significant because only neptune lies below ...in the 1st no less....do you have intense lucid dreams and dissacoiation from reality and what not??? i never got back to you with the rest of your chart analysis i apologize, been busy with school....how are things goin supa?

I think Im pretty realistic on things...maybe not relationships. who knows?
To be honest, I dont know what any of that means which is why I posted this.

The way I read it is pretty cut and dry...

for example...I figure the third house is communication...so there will be problems with the way I express myself?

And the 9th house is higher learning...so I see it as me having some set back with that?

how i understand intercepted signs is that its almost like a protection mechanism ... often in our childhood or sometimes even as adults, there were areas that we needed to keep close to ourselves and if we let them out of the bag, well, lots of negative stuff would happen and it would make it difficult to operate in the world.

great if you know about that part of you and that you consciously made the effort to withhold a part of yourself for particular reasons, but difficult if you did it unconsciously when you were a child because you didn't understand why people reacted negatively to the 'natural' you ... because intercepted signs like the attendent intercepted houses are well developed areas of yourself.

the key is if you understand the part of you that was withdrawn and why there you have access to the energy when you want it ... if you do not know how that energy works and why you withdrew it, you can do some backtracking on the energy and recollect that part of yourself (accessing it through the energy of the sign on the cusp of the house which intercepts the sign), and by using the areas of experiences of the intercepted houses in your chart ... you can get really advanced and use transits of the rulers of the intercepted signs and really understand the energy you've been locking up in a closet in which ever house the intercepted sign is located.

oops I meant to say I dont see where that is a problem in my life...Im extremely outgoing etc. Maybe you can explain how the interception in my 9th house and 3rd house affect me...also, note* I am a leo sun and my 9th house is intercepted (leo sun)

aquarius intercepted in the 3rd and leo intercepted in the 9th ... i would ask how conscious your parents were ... how in tune were they with you and what you needed as a child or a teenager, or even now for that matter. how was your school situation when you were growing up ... if you had really conscious parents who chose a school perfect for you and all that, then likely you are dealing with the sidereal placement of cancer and capricorn being intercepted rather than the other ... which would account for your very outgoing nature as leo would be on your MC. hard to say without knowing what your personal context is to the chart ...

those houses in particular have to do with how you were taught and how you learn ... what you feel free to explore and jump into and experience and how you were taught to do that in order to meet your own personal needs in those experiences. some people can experience all kinds of things but learn nothing from them because they do it for reasons unknown to them or as a reaction to something rather than something self-motivating. that's often the 3/9th house dynamic.

interceptions are very particular and context related in order to use them in astro delineations. to be honest with interceptions, they often do not make sense until later in life, so you may have some time before this information becomes clear unless you feel like doing some real astro-consulting work.

if you are interested in interceptions and learning more yourself, i highly recommend joanne wickenberg's book "hidden powers" ... on intersections and retrogrades. its a very informative book on the subject on many, many levels.

you can see how the signs in the houses play out in your life through a look at your second progressed chart. e.g., you have taurus/gemini in the 7th ... taurus would be your natal cusp ruler, but you will age to experience gemini's turn as the cusp ruler for a period of your life, and then cancer and so on, and so on ... the natal chart just shows the initial imprint ... live goes on as you develop and that's reflected on the progressed chart.
