Nostradamus?

I have no idea if i spelled that right. But anyways, has anyone read the nostradamus prediction on the years 2007-2012? If so, what do you think? I have to admit that i do have a hard time believing that that much shit is gonna happen over that short amount of time. but, i was kinda surprised at the similarities between what he wrote and whats happening right now.

 

yeah. Nostramdamus, its not real. its super vague, misinterpreted poems. nostradamus followers, have invented ways to "read" nostradamus. their "technique" allows them to interpret anything to mean anything...

i've tried wading through some of his crap on multiple occasions. sure, whatever happens you can probably find something in there somewhere that can be interpreted as having predicted it. well same goes for a lot of other things. especaly large endless things that incohierently ramble all over the place. like urantia, christianity and discordia, to name just a few.

what i personaly can tell you, is that the biggest currently existing clear and present direct threat to the continued existence of life on planet earth, isn't weapons of mass destruction/wwiii, 'terrorism', or some kind of religeous mumbo jumbo, but the energy, forign, and transportation policies, of the united states of america and the already existing environmental consiquences of them.

policies motivated by a culture of putting trying to impress each other ahead of the real gratifications of creating and exploring.

and i'm not even beggining to speculate as to what the IMMEDIATE consiquences of those policies and conditions is going to be, all i DO know, is that the underlying resources that make those policies possible are finite and being rapidly consumed.

so its sort of a race against time which comes first, running out of them, or totaly screwing our planet out of being able to maintain our own survival, whatever else happens politicly, unless, we as a species, and as citizens of dominant nations and societies, get our heads out of our collective assess.

but i AM curious as to what someone, anyone, who can make heads nor tails of nostradamus' incohierent mutterings, seems to think, he had to say about it.

This website shows his original writings, then the intrepertation of them (once again, kinda like the bible) I don't know, All i can say is i hate the human race, as a spieces (Im not trying to offend anyone). What on earth makes us so full of ourselves, to think that were better than nature, so we have the right to destroy it. it just makes me sad. I wonder if we will ever get a clue about our place in nature. I know the majority of people on here feel like i do, And yet every minute, we are cutting down more trees and killing off all types of animals. It's strange, we have the most brain power of all other spieces, yet we seem to be the stupidest at figuring out how to live in harmony with the earth instead of destroying it. But, rest assured, I (And many of you, i suppose) will be the ones sitting there laughing at everyone when they dont know what to do because All the towns are underwater.

Indeed I now believe Nostradamus predictions is something we should all look into. I think it is earily close prediction on the 9/11 towers.

2007 is either going to be a totaly boring year, or one in which monetary economics universaly melts down all over the planet, or one in which a multitude of powerful governments, u.s. included, stop trying to pretend to be democratic and state wiping their assess with their constitutions.

bush still WANTS to invade iran, come hell or high water, just like he did with iraq and afghanistan. if only because its there and he has the most powerful army on the face of the planet and thinks that makes him some kind of a god.

(iranian shiia's did, over the past hundred and sixty some odd years, martyr a large number of baha'is, but somehow i doubt very much that fanaticly christer bush is likely to site that as an excuse. nor do i expect a military invasion to accomplish anything more positive there then doing so has, so far, done anywhere else).

from what i read on the web page cited, and what i remember reading, ages ago of nostradamis' actual texts, which weren't btw, indexed in anyway, but simply rambled and rambled and rambled as far as i could tell. well what's cited on the web page anyway, is so couched in terms of christerism fantasies as to be indecipherable to try and make any kind of sense out of, let alone the conclusions the site itself seems to be/have, drewn from them.

sorry. sure anything that happens, something he said somewhere in them could probably be construed as having 'predicted' it, but the usefulness of such crap as an indication of what to expect, as far as i can see, is pretty damd near nil.

the clear and present danger to the human species isn't weapons of mass destruction, terrorism, or some kind of religeous mumbo jumbo, but the use of combustion to generate energy and propell transportation, an out of control expansion of population, and the destruction of natural habitat. most, if not all, of which can rightfully be blamed, on a culture of trying to impress each other, which gratifies nothing.

and no belief, idology, or anything short of a sea change in cultural core values is going to rectify that situation.

What makes you think humans are not a part of nature. If you look at any ecosystem, what happens when one species has more then enough food and insufficient predators? They overpopulate until famine(easy sources of food dry up) and disease(easily spread in big groups) check the population eventually. Study up on it.

As for the predictions, I don't think they can be used to predict the future with any accuracy and that makes them worthless anyway.

everytime someone predicts the future, they leave in some level of vagueness. Eventually there is going to be an event that can match up with what they said. Sure, they could have really predicted it, but eventually something like it was probably going to happen anyway.
