I've worked for two of them on the list-I was in sales and then personal shopping at Nordstroms and then was a training and hiring coordinator for the ymca and both places treated their employees like crap. At the Y my boss was let go for verbally and sexually harassing me and at Nordstroms I was encouraged to flirt with guys for sales when I worked in mens suits and my co-workers were catty jealous bitches as was my boss who ended up firing me. I then got laid off along with a bunch of other people at the Y because the exec embezzeled grant money and my position was grant funded. Albight both places had great benefits the people sucked.
Every other company I worked for I loved the corperate offices and continually got promoted. But at the top 100 companies I was stuck and treated like crap.

So who the hell comes up with this top 100 list? Certainly not people who have worked there. Is it soley based on the benefits or which CEO's the Forbes family associattes with?

    okay fair enough.

but this is one example of both companies sucking. and as we know personal exp doesn't equal out to jack when figuring out the worth of a company. a lot of people maybe had a good exp. not to downplay your exp and doubt that it was shitty, I am sure they did treat you like shit, but, it isn't enough proof, one persons exp., to say they don't belong on the top 100, for me.

Ya smaller companies are more personal, less cut throat.

every single one of my close girlfriends also worked at nordstroms in junior college and hated it. And as for the Y I think any company that is so careless they have an executive director embezzle enough money for services in the community to be cut is irresponsible and apathetic to the very community they are supossed to be serving.

Another example is starbucks...I had so many kids from there who I interviewed who had the worst experiences working there.
Good benefits, a philanthropic CEO and financial security for an employee does not equal a good company-it equals a wealthy one that may pay so much because the job is so shitty.
