Not true in the case of all religions. Islam for instance was only established in Arabia by means of war, and it says in the koran that war is the way to spread it.

 

this is actualy not entirely accurate, even though some christians and some moslems both believe it.

the problem lies in the origen in many beleifs of god as boogy man.

i've heard an immam explain that the passage refered to isn't about MAKING war on anything, but about the kind of warrior spirit facing moral challanges in our own lives.

History speaks for itself. It's not a question of belief but historical fact. Muhammad could only establish Islam after his jihad against the Quraish, his own clan, who ran Mecca at the time. Many references in the Koran to that.

The whole point of the thread is to say that religious wars, and bickering is what sets us in the wrong direction to being with.

Islam overall is a very peacfull religion.

Fanatics of any religion, dogma and not accepting your neighbor is what is stop any thing good form coming from religion.

 

as far as im concearned.....religion is a Medieval (and prior to the middle ages) form of government....

and the only good thing IV seen come from religion is.....hope

heeh.. relgion in the maedieval ages is very close to what we are returing to, two sides fighting each other two the end to say that there pece loving and accepting savor is better than the others, its true hell!

To find heaven we have to work past the difrences and start accepting each other for how we are, and stop killing each other for worshiping a difrent god that stands for the same thing.
