Well the best way i see is by simply not having kids..

Other than that, buy as much as your food locally as you can. good starting point.

    do you drive?

Just thinking and being conscious of all the consequences of my actions on the environment and everyone else was a good start...

I do the usual recycling and buying of green & sustainable products whenever I can. I eat organic & local whenever possible. I also eat lower on the food chain (vegetarian/vegan), which saves a lot of resources like land & water and helps reduce pollution. I have an efficient car and only use it when necessary, and I try to use my bike & bike trailer when I can. My partner & I converted our road-trip mobile to run on waste vegetable oil, which burns cleaner & is carbon-neutral & more sustainable than fossil fuels. We'd like to eventually convert our small car to an electric car.

Our goal is to eventually buy some land & build a small sustainable earthship-type home w/ a greenhouse to grow our own food. We'd like to rescue animals once we have more room for them... and generally want to distance ourselves just a bit from this toxic culture and live more symbiotically with the earth and all her creatures.

Dream big & start small! :)

the reath is sick because our mind are sick. Think in a different way. WE are slaves of traditions and habits, we are supposed ta have a chrismas tree, buy loads of furniture and we get "more friends" if we have a cool car/stereo/house. we need to STOP following the footsteps and mindfucks of our parents and their parents. we dont need daily news papers, we dont need to eat meat, we dont need to use paper tissues for everything, we don't need to wear make up, we dont need to follow fashion, we dont need to change clothes that often, we dont need to have many lamps at home, overconsuming energy. actully we are SO SPOILED, we cant imagine what real poverty/misery is... before, when there was a war, you couldnt eat what you want, you went hungry sometimes, it was like a way of saving, but of course non intentional, but still... imagine that we actuallly SHOULD START with some simple living, because the earth is in a state of crisis. this is no joke any more. we need to make it happen, now and here.

Amen, freakon - it's going to take a massive mindshift and a change in the American lifestyle to save the planet. And we definitely need to start by rethinking how we live. :)
