Hey I had a friend who used to let Rye Bread mold purple then he would either eat it or drink something from it to trip. What is it and how do you do it or was he just being really really dumb and chancing death?

He was being dumb. Tripping off of moldy rye is almost as classic as getting high off of banana peels.

Arent there alkaloids in them or something? Not saying your average thug could extract them or anything but didnt they used to use the rye plant to make L? I'm just bored and thinking of old stories. So its basiclly as worthless as the orange peel in the sun covered in toothpaste?

the mold you would want (ergot & related fungi) is found on grain in the fields, not on bread in the kitchen...

and even pure "wild" (or lab-grown) ergot is quite poisonous - useful as a medicine (in the proper hands) but not a reliable source of "trips", mmmmkay?

Actually, bread mold is harmless. It won't make you trip, but it won't make you sick. It tastes really gross though, like an old dusty book. Aw man it tastes gross.

These molds are already there when you buy the bread. It's only after an extended period of time will you actually see the mold. It obviously is'nt a good idea to be eating mold all the time, but I don't think it'll do you any harm.

Thats just kinda funny to me. The idea of eating mold. Not to get high or anything, just the idea of eating mold.

some molds contain chemicals which are among the most toxic materials on earth, and their effect may be somewhat cumulative...

    (*see: aflatoxins*)

    avoid molds, mmmkay?
