Pads dont work for me. Spillage. No matter what. Plus I simply dont like them. SO I tried tampons.. I tried junior teen slim ones from tampax, and I think they're too small... But the whole point is NO MATTER WHAT I DO theres leakage and its HORRIBLE and I'm SO sick of it. I'm seriously SO pissed right now... because when I'm on my period its the only thing on my mind.. Like i always think "did I just spill? Did the tampon just sort of come out?" HELP ME! seriously wtf do I do here? pads leak tampons leak. I'm not even sure I'm using the tampon the exact way it should be used, like when the applicator is in, hands free, its angled to the left? am I fucking lopsided? I figured its the hymen (virginal) or somehting. I know this is a really personal subject but im spilling (lol) my guts here so can someone PLEASE tell me what to do or chat with me about this on this thread? Screw pads, I just need info on tampons. No i cant ask my mother because she knows nothing about tampons (told me so, not my own opinion) Okay So tampons, I dont know when to change them, 6 - 8 hours doesnt really fucking help.. i cant biologically feel if I'm heavy or light... I also cant tell when im getting my period because its months between them, they're extremely irregular, and I often get the cramps feeling just like about to menstruate and then i dont. (Im taking this up with my doctor) Seriously, What sort of problems result in tampons leaking all over the fucking place? I almost cried today because not once in all my periods has it been clean. never not once. not a single fucking DAY have I not been a mess. I dont know what to do..... websites dont help at all. Should I try a different tampon size? is there some possible way to check to see if i need to change? is there some way to guage if it's in the right spot? AND WTF is with the string getting messy too? seriously, theres no clean place to touch the string, hich tells me I left it in too long. thje only tampons I have aare junior slims or w/e and I KNOW I'm heavy right now, as seen from leaking through the whole damned string. my god i hate this becaue i KNOW some of these problems I shouldnt have to deal with.
ok hon~ calm down... I have the SAME EXACT problem. You may have a disorder called PCOS in which you get really irregular periods, and when they come they are heavy and may last for several weeks at a time. I have it and it completley sucks. It sounds liike you may be using the tampon right, if it its right, you will not be able to feel it in you. If you have it in right, then I suggest going to super tampons, I use tampax compax and they work good for me. I change it every three hours about. If you are still leaking, try using both a pad and tampon. I dont think there is such a thing as being lopsided, at least I have never heard of it. I would definitly talk to your doctor though because only they can make a diagnosis. I hope this helps and I hope it gets better for you. If you have any more questions feel free to PM me!
LAke, my periods last the usual, usually one time it was 3 days... but a pad And a tampon? that totally sucks! I just got the junoir teens cuz although im tall my body is smaller than most.... So it just seemed to make sense to get a small tampon. thanks for the replies.
I got the junior teens too when i first got it that heavy, but the same thing happened to me that is happening to you. If you go to your doctor they may be able to put you on the pill, it can help make it better.
Have you thought of The Keeper? This is a rubber cup type thing that fits right where the tampon does and forms kind of a seal. You don't have to empty it for 12 hours for most women. It only comes in two sizes, before vaginal birth and after vaginal birth, so you won't have to worry about sizes. The great thing is that this item lasts forever and you don't have to keep buying all those damn pads/tampons all the time. I do however, use a thin pad with the velcro wrap around wings just to protect my underwear just in case, but it is so thin you can't even feel it. Check out this site: www.thekeeperinc.com Good luck to you.
For what it's worth my periods were heavy in my teens. Pads didn't work for me either. I used regular sized tampons and changed them every two hours on heavier days and eventually started using super on heavier days once I was ok with tampons. If it's not in properly you will be uncomfortable. I would suggest the multipack. That way you can experiment with what works best for you. I do remember that pads were a nightmare. I remember dreading getting up after class after sitting for an hour...rushing to the bathroom. Tampons worked much better for me, I just had to change them more often. Which is true for eveyone on their heavier days. Hang in there, you'll find what works for you Heather
I rarely use tampons, but when i do, i just wear a panty liner too, so i can see that if i've leaked, it's time to change again. It's ok to be frustrated hun, most of us were at first. It sucks that other women don't talk about it with the young ones more, it could save alot of frustration. Unfortunately, the only way you will know what works for you is to try everything.
you can usually get tampons in light regular and heavy, so go for the heavy ones. perhaps try using two? Make sure you change them every four hours or before if necessary. Wear a panty liner to prevent spilliage onto your garnments. and yeah, go see a doctor, the contraceptive pill can be taken to make your periods lighter and less painful.
When I was in high school my periods were horribly heavy. I had to use super ultra plus tampons, and change them every few hours. I was a virgin all through high school, too, so having an intact hymen does NOT affect your ability to use tampons correctly. It takes a while to get used to using them. Like others suggested, I would use a pantyliner with the tampon. I really think that your problem is the absorbency. You need to try for a higher one. Don't stress about it too much...you've only had a few years experience with the cycle!! Once you're my age it'll be second nature. Your body will tell you exactly what to expect and you will learn how to listen to it.
The tampons dont hurt at all so they must be in right.. but they do angle left..... Im going to buy a multipack next time. but the thing is, i never know when to expect it because I've had about ten periods in 2 years.. my first one was christmas morning and the second one was during march break, I remembered because they were on school vacations... maybe less than ten actually... but dr doesn't know anything said that could just be my cycle...
Sounds like you have a pretty shitty doctor. Don't settle for a dr. that can't help you. I would ask your friends about their dr.s , or just shop around. You need a gynocologist that can help you with your problems. Even if you don't have a "problem" (medically), you need a doctor that can explain your cycle to you a little better. She(he) should be able to tell you why young women have irregular cycles, what are signs that you are ovulating, what your premenstrual symptoms are (what to look out for as signs that you are about to start your period).
