dude, trigeminal neuralgia, that sucks man. how do you use weed to treat it, do you smoke when you suffer an episode, or do smoking regularly impede the situations from occuring?

I posted main reason I self medicated for yrs before I got sick.

Main reason NOW for a card was after I got sick in 99 with chronic brain and face pain.
They dont have a known cure for some chronic pain and they make me take 250+ of painkiller lets call A
    100+ of a 2nd painkiller lets call B.

I was unable to funtion and have a life sorta always in the fog.

Like I said before I got sick I used pot but when I became serious ill in 99 I since found pot helped the pain alot and has cut down on my pain meds and have a normal life.

I am on disability now 2yrs.

I waited 5-6 yrs to go on it so they dont write me off so fast and young.

    I dont misuse the system

Pot should be legal to all its just not fair.

I have hypomania and anxiety/panic attacks w'a little bipolarity mixed in there and the marijuana is acting as a substitute for my regular meds which have fried my nerves to the point that I cannot take them anymore. Marijuana is not hard on my nerves, and I'm able to get thru the day without freaking out so much.

    To relieve:
    -insomnia
-neck/back pain from a childhood injury
    -stress

For me, sometimes the "high" i.e. euphoria marijuana produces is an undesirable side effect.
I had an extremely stressful situation going on here Mon. & Tues. but I couldn't use pot because I might have had to make a long drive at a moment's notice.
Several hours of driving mountain roads with no guard rails which freak me out sober; don't wanna do it stoned.

I have never had a medical ailment that would justify medical use.
    I dont lie to myself.

Pain relief, muscle relaxation, improved hearing and vision, as well as touch. My senses are enhanced, my brain works more fluidly (moving from idea to idea) and i'm more pleasent to work with (I can more easily associate with others, and also have a better mood when high).

Makes me wonder what a world full of responsible stoners would be like

so many people dont understand the term medical
medical has nothing to do with oh makes music more fun..or i just wanna

i use it rectreationaly as well, usualy smoked
but i also use a tincture for medicinal use
ive been on baclofen for severe spasticity from a sci
the baclofen hs a ton of side effects including halucinations
i've also had multiple surgeries to control em,
and nothing works as good as a few drops of the tincture

before i quit awhile ago, i used it for my fibromyalgia & degenerative arthritis & disc disease. plus i have 2 herniated discs in my lower back & 1 in my neck on top of it. i think i may return to tokin because the pain killers just aren't cutting it. it also helps with my anxiety & bipolar. the only problem being i have a fascist shrink that likes to hint at dropping me; he's convinced i never stopped using. ass munch.

weed is definitely the best hangover cure. i dont like having to take any sort of medication/pills if i dont absolutely NEED it, so if i´ve got a killer headache or nausea from a hangover, weed suppresses it.

i couple of weeks ago i had the touch of the flu and was vomiting and such. took a small hit one morning (so as to not get "stoned" - just to feel it a little bit) and that made me feel right all day long. i could at least walk around for a longer periods of time and not feel like throwing up.

any sort of particular body pain will start to diminish with a good indica strain since it gives more of a body buzz.

i generally dont have trouble getting to sleep, but i know that if i smoke right before bed it´s probably going to put me out sooner.

The only thing I have really used it for is the common cold. It's as if I never had one.

Besides that it's all about fun/using the mind, not medical stuff.

I suffer with BPD; it takes the edge of the mood swings, sleep disturbances and constant thinking.

Although I smoke a lot, I'm rarely what I would call stoned; I think an awful lot of folks 'self-medicate' as opposed to seeking clinical help, and are probably doing themselves more harm than good.... For example, I read constantly on smokers forums kids saying they smoke 'cos it gives them confidence; these are the people that wind up hooked, because they rely on it. Once they have realised it has the desired effect, they stop looking for a cure, and just smoke themselves into not caring, instead.

There's a marked difference between real self-medicating, and simply masking ones problems with drugs.

why do I smoke teh herb?

    1) relax.
    2) helps clear my head to think more clearly.
    3) relieve pain.
    4) relax muscles.
    5) relieve arthritis pain and tension.
    6) regain appetite.
    7) loosen up enough to play video games again. lol
    8) attitude adjustment.

unfortunately due to medical reasons, I no longer get the stoned feeling while smoking/injesting pot. what I wouldn't do to get the giggles again.

weed truly is a fabulous medicine. i had a flu for a couple of days, took loads of tylenol, pepto bismol, echinacea, all sorts of pharmaceutical bullshit, only made me feel worse. smoked three joints last night, and today not only is my flu gone, but i feel great! thank you marijuana!

I use it to relieve pain (I have an autoimmune condition, diagnosed 7 years ago) and not have it kill my appetite and make me nauseous, like opioids will. I also like getting high. ;)

Sadly, I live in a state with no medical marijuana laws, so my access is severely limited.

    Headaches.
    Hangovers.
    Cramps.
    Migraines.
    Nausea.
    Anger management.
Depression. But it's not a cure, just alleviates major stress.
