can someone give me the scoop on dvd burners, how expensive are they for a good one, how expensive are cd's, can you get different quality cd's? ive heard that the quality can vary greatly, does it have anything to do with make of the burner or cd? thanks

I'm not real BIG on "Online Shopping", but, I just got mine. It was on "Special" from Officedepot. I got aKHypermedia Internal DVD+-RW and 100 blank DVD+R disks for about $110. (I added shipping) It works fine. Later today, I get my new TV Tuner card. I'll xfer VHS movies to DVD. I'm happy with the deal I got. So Far...
Shop around. They are getting cheaper.

What really matters for burning dvds is how fast your machine is.

An older machine can take many hours to burn a full dvd, where a new G5 might burn one in a half-hour.

You have to remember, that's a shitload of data on one of those things.
