I'm apologize if there's another thread like this. I don't know which forum to put this in, because it's regarding my weight but it's also a period question. Okay, I'm on a diet right now and mostly it's been going according to plan. I started about three and a half weeks ago, and I lost 7 lbs. I'm pretty sure that's typical, because my doctor says I should be losing 1 to 2 lbs a week at first. But I went to weigh myself yesterday (the first day of my period), and I had gained back 2 lbs. As you can probably understand, I was concerned. Two pounds doesn't seem like a lot, but that's a whole weeks worth of dieting. I haven't really went off my diet, even on Thanksgiving. I mean, yesturday I did eat a couple of (just 2) cookies at a party, but that's not enough to gain back two pounds, is it? And during my period, I feel heavier. I don't know, could it possibly just have something to do with my period, or do I have to change my diet?
Thats is really normal women can gain between 1-10 pounds during their period. Just drink a lot of water and it should be back down in a day or 2.
You should always weigh yourself in the morning after you pee. You can poop and lose 2 lbs. dear. Make sure that you are weighing yourself at the same time each day.
Oh, don't feel bad, I ALWAYS gain water weight around my period and then it comes right back off within a few days to a week. I remember when I was in my best friend's wedding, and I had gone for a final fitting on my dress and it was too tight. The seamstress asked me if I had gained weight, because the last time I had been in, my measurements were smaller. (Yeah, real nice lady!) I told her no, but that I was due for my menstrual cycle. She just looked at me kind of funny, I could tell she thought I was full of it. So she altered the dress measurements. Well wouldn't you know, I came back a week later and the dress was huge on me, kept falling down. I gave her a "I told you so" look, because I knew that I always pack on weight before my period. Happens every month. Drives me nuts, but ahhh, what can you do. That's how my body reacts, never fails.
