1. The Hipforums announces it first ever fundraiser. After nearly 30 years online, we must ask our members and guests to help support the website. Thanks to years of ongoing financial support of our members, advertisers and volunteer admin staff, we have been able to keep the forums alive.

Now we must ask for help as available funds have all been used for our Internet server and other fees.

So please donate any amount to our PayPal account donate@Hipforum.com to keep the site going. If we can get enough for a few months fees, we won't need to nag you again!

Acid never did anything for me except one time I crawled around on the ground making lion noises. And when I stood up I fell into a bush.

DXM is different though, its a dissociative, thats pretty much the definition of the word is detachment. Acid is a hallucinogenic so have fun :)

It's not for everyone, so don't feel you should try it if you have reservations.
As you are currently afraid of what might happen you probably shouldn't try it just yet anyway, but no need to write it off totally.

Do some more research over the next year or so and learn what it really does. For instance, it doesn't usually make people feel detached so much as objective and this is a big difference... but each experience is dependent on your emotional and environmental situation so you should def be aware of this and plan to make your trip as relaxing, beautiful and safe as possible. It also reacts to your expectations, which is important to understand.

The fact that you even consider it a danger to yourself tells me you may not have an enjoyable trip if you took it at this point, but since you are curious it might be something for you later on. That doesn't matter, there's no rush! Just take your time to read about it, watch some good unbiased documentaries and learn a bit more about what to expect before you decide to explore further. No need to take it for the first time without planning, that's where most of the negative trips stem from.

If you were totally afraid of water you wouldn't chuck on a diving suit and jump sraight into the ocean, it would be too scary and you might panic.. Research first so you know where your fears come from and understand what is real danger and what is not, then when (if) you feel relaxed and ready you can start exploring in the manner any intelligent, concious person going on a journey would.
