I'm a Cancer. I'm very interested in Astrology but I don't know much about it and I'm trying to learn. All I pretty much know about my sign is that it's a water sign. lol I've seen things like rising sun sign and things like that but I really don't understand what it means. Help anyone?
I am in the same boat as a pisces I have bought a few books at Barns & Nobles but I am still pretty much lost. So even though I can't help you know you are not alone.
The rising sign is what is in the first house, that is the sign that is on the eastern horizon when you were born. I find that the rising sign, also called the ascendant, is more influential than the Sun sign. Since you need to have a chart drawn up to know your ascendant, most people don't know what theirs is. The Sun sign is easier for most people to remember, so that has taken precendant. To know the ascendant, you need to know your birthdate (I know suprise huh?), place, and the most exact time you can give for your birth.
Oh nooooo A Cancer , and a Pisces ladies !!! I have special weakness toward those signs, anything ladies ? To may it whom concern, the third sign that affect me deeply is Libra ladies, well a Taurus lady too - yeeeeeh. :&

it's hard to get a good grasp of astrology just from books. I learned by hanging out with a friend who was very much into it, then taking a class with a professional astrologer and at one time taking a few private lessons, attending meetings of a local group of astrologers, reading books, and practice reading horoscopes. Once you get into it you find like-minded people to talk with, and then your knowledge really takes off.
