I hate you all, this thread made me make chili tonight. Bastards! *shakes fist* Ground beef, garlic, onion, mushrooms, chili powder, a little cajun spice mix, canned tomatoes, tomato paste, kidney beans and red pepper. Oh, and I threw in a handful of this dried lentil and veggie type soup for fun. I'm gonna cut up some baguette and garlic-breadify it soon too
Gosh, you guys are making me hungry! I love chili, and I usually put a bunch of things into it to bring together a very complex flavor and texture. I like mine a little spicy, but I make it so that you can either bring the heat up, or hold back if you like it milder. I think I am gonna go make some in a bit. Hahaha
Try some shredded carrots, it adds a subtle sweetness. It adds some texture so you can use way less meat.
back in the day, my wife used to make the most delicious chili in the neighborhood. then she got into them tupperware parties and other nonsense and lost the touch. now all i get is grilled cheese and tomato soup, my insides can't handle chili anymore.
the home gives us something they call oatmeal. its more like gruel that i ate in wW2. now my wife made good oatmeal. she added just the right amount of brown sugar; always made a huge pot too.
