Do you tip the artist when they are doing a touch up on ur tatt? im supposed to be going tomarrow night to get it touched up because it wouldnt take ink in a small spot when i got inked up and im curious if i should tip him again and how much this time?
No. I do not tip after touchups because my tips after the work is done (last session) is pretty hefty and more than reasonable. This is because I happen to like the artist I've been going to recently (past two years). A lot of people forget to tip, especially first-timers. Though I think it is ridiculous when they incorporate the tip into the overall price. I get that feeling like I'm in a third-class restaurant that's desperate enough to scam the etiquette out of me.
NO!!! Touch-ups should be free, & in your case where it wasn't your fault, it should be free. I race mx motorcycles & whenever I wreck and fuck up my sleaves my tattoo artist always fixes the problem for free, but I grew up with my tattoo artist who is one of the best in the area & has done alot of famous people. One is Mary J Blidge who has a celtic cross on her upper left arm & a tribal band around her uper right arm. He always has great stories & pics.
hey, thanks. i just got it done like, 4 hours ago. i gave in tho and decided to be nice and give him like $10. he can get a couple packs of smokes or something. when it heals up again ill definately be postin a pic for you guys on here.
Aww.. no freshly inked pinkness? Tipping is really up to you so if you felt like you should give something then by all means. Tipping is always appreciated! You make up for all the flakes who come in and don't give any or not enough. I usually tip 20% of a total price especially if it's a large piece. I just got my chest done this summer. wooo..
yeah, no fresh ink pic. i would but i dont have a digi cam. i use my friend. i thought it was just a touch up, but the guy put so much more detail into the tatt its just utterly amazing now. it was badass before, but now its awesome. ill be sure to get a pic on soon
Cool and I love stories like that! When artists put in the extra dedication, and customers are just floored. It just makes it all so worth it and rewarding.
naw, they dont expect it...if your tattoo is gauranteed tip once and if your paying for the touchup then they dont deserve a tip point blank
