What do conspiracy theorists think about the death of Shaikh Azzam? Do any of you link the death of this man to the rise of Osama bin Laden?

I would say Bin Ladens rise was based more on history.

He is a modern-age Peter the Hermit of Islam I began a thread here debating it http://www.hipforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=154512

Both with the motiff, of hiding in caves wearing robes and directing low down people to organize and become a strong force.

However a more real and more culturally accurate comparison would be Osama to Hasan I Sabbah and his radical muslim terrorist sect the hashashin. Who actually used "SUICIDE" kamikazi attacks to kill sultans and viziers.

He revived this cult, that was mostly a legend to scare nearby rulers and crusaders. Yet was a very real group of assassin terrorists, loyal to this man who hid away in his secret palace. Brainwashing young people to carry out his devious crap. This is exactly what Al Qaeda is. The Hashashin reborn to the new millenium. Both cults are created to exist after the death of their leader. The Old man in the Mountain was the title, that one would gain therefore making it appear like he is some sort of immortal that cannot die to the uninitiated lower chumps that actually carry out the suidice missions.

What a great pinnacle to all this war on terror, to invade Iran and find out Bin Laden has been hiding away in a hidden palace in the actual spot of where the Hashashin used to be operated from.
