Ibanez JSM100, though it's almost the same. Super 58 pickups and the castle headstock (more balance). If the 58s don't work for me, I'll shoot for Seymour Duncan 59s or Classic 57s. What I usually use is a Gibson Dirty Fingers at the bridge and a Burstbucker III at the neck, in my Gibson. I either pair that sound with a Marshall Bluesbreaker or a Fender Deluxe Reverb, no effects other than a TS-808. I've got a Dunlop wah that I never use... and most of the time I don't even have to break out the TS-808. I think the Ibanez is just as good as a Gibson ES at half the price. Hell of alot rarer to find one of these, too.
You lucky bastard! I'm not a fan of electrics and i'm jealous! oh, and i love your sig man! Kinky ran down here, i knew he would lose, but i had high hopes, he was going to make cannibis legal! but only in Port Aransas =[
Normally, it'd fetch over 2 grand, but I managed to slip away with $1440. Traded in a Guild acoustic.
Kinky Friedman is the shit, man. I don't even care if he loses... it's just that the man is so deserving of every last one of the votes in this country because he's the only guy who seems to be realistic enough to actually touch base with the person inside of me... and I know I've got some pretty high standards as far as politicians go. I mean, you've got reality tv shows... why don't you have reality politicians? It only makes slight logical sense, there. Kinky for prez... why the hell not? The Kinkster would definately get mine in '08, and if he isn't running, I'll either write him or someone like... say, Jesus, in.
It's not just an Ibanez. This thing is an Ibanez and a half as far as quality and rarity goes. It'll hold value and fetch plenty of respect in any jazz circuit before I say a word or play a note, as well as having a sweeter sound to it... I can't say I wouldn't own a Gibson ES, I just think these are more for my money. I'd have to say Tom's is pretty sweet for only $400 or so. I know, you probably think I've gone insane. I can't help it... Scofield is a deserving man. I mean, he did play guitar for Miles Davis, for cryin out loud. He's my equivalent to Sonny Landreth as guitarist for Clifton Chenier, only he doesn't do slide. I just never realized how our styles were so... similar, till these past couple weeks. I've been really diggin it.
