    January's Child
    Current mood: creative

Feels like I found the only one
Feels like I smashed into the sun
    January's child's last temptation
    Begging for more again

    Back in my place
    Back into neutral
Back in my room to sleep

When it's time, it's time to grow
When it's time, I'll let it all go
    Januarys's child, wet and warm
    Needing something to hold

So fill me with longing, there's no belonging
Fill me with longing, smash into the sun
Take me, wake me, then put me to sleep
Take me, take me, then leave me in peace
    Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

    Back in my place
    Back into neutral
Back in my room to sleep

    Back in my place
    Back into neutral
Then back out into the street
    Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

    Eindhoven

I started off early, still trying to buy some time
All I have to work on is memories and a bleeding heart
For today I feel calm, centred and low
    A feeling I can sustain

    One coffee and another
    Tastes like hot metal glue
    As I wait I notice
    I have turned a corner
My past obscured from my view

    All work done now
    Dark thoughts long behind me
This city is tended and washed like working hands
Into a shop which sells coffee and... and...

In wider view my home is full
Too restricted but all for the taking
    Giving in gently
    Hoping and waiting
    Sinking but frantically waving

A space to play, a place to stay
To hold my small drama now
    All movements mine to realise
So as I sit I'm calmer now

I seem to be constantly moving
It's the only way to go but
    I glance over my shoulder
Turn around, take a long look at
    The thread of my life

    Nick

One thing he said that sticks in my mind
"Stop the world, I want to get off"
    Normally followed by haha
But a frightened grin was what I got
Talent flowed, his emotions laid bare
In a town of looking down with nothing to share
Except the innocent vacant stare of passers by.

We made music, our little band was fun
We filled the time with laughs and smoking
    Never caring never scared
    He was sinking no-one cared
Andy lost it, upset the apple cart
    Nick and I appointed messengers
He tried to deal with all the shit
    But Nick could not accept

A world of bullshit began seeping in
    What's the point, nothing lasts
I think I'll leave this ship now
Lost at sea in limbo now
Oh Nick no no you shouldn't have...

    I miss you Nick

    A new big disease
    Current mood: wistful

"And so, through my funding, I've brought you a miracle!"
    Broadcast nationwide the papers respond
Flowcharts and dirt and background reports
Then hear his speech-craft, open arms to your thoughts
Report to the public, retort as expected
The tiff rages on while hands do the work
At break-time The Sun reports on the progress
Then home, watch TV, accepting as vital - The new big disease

He takes the glory, we read the story
He takes the stage announcing new measures
All nodding dumbly as he claims the prize
Of all who dance for and give him their eyes

Then we make miracles, paid in security
Miracles worked then forgot as if games
Why can't our selflessness, out of obscurity
Be brought to the light, distracting our eyes
From the squawks and remarks of such noisy children
As the tiff rages on our hands do the work
At break-time The Times reports on the progress
Then home by midnight, tomorrow may hold - The new big disease

He takes the glory, we read the story
He takes the stage for the glare of the camera
All watch in wonder while he claims the prize
Of all who dance for and give him their eyes

    We offer our eyes
    We need to hear deeds
    And he feeds us with
    A new big disease
    Vote red, green or blue
    The newspapers print
    Vote red, green or blue
    A rainbow it ain't

    Moonbeams
    Current mood: Moons

I will lift you up past the rings of Saturn
Then lay you down in the Sea of Tranquillity
For a thousand years to sleep until
I pass again the orbit of our eternity
A silent moment in a sea of banality
    Our sublime dance to repeat

I call for you, muted, that fools cannot hear
Your reply is as still, stifled as distant, unclear
For sunlight and moonbeams, warmth and cold light
Cannot in both daytime and darkness unite

Deep in the earth our conscience lay dormant
In labyrinth caves by chance our souls meet
Though light cannot reach us, we each of us know
And can touch once again, eternal, complete
